What tools do you carry?

I need to put together a tool kit for a CRF450x and a Timbersled Mt. Horse. What do you guys carry when you ride?

lotsa

many bolt configurations spare chain and connectors zip ties duct tape wire
necesary tools to use your parts supply. had to fix a broken chain on the mtn last weekend like cave man but got it done..

I assume you only carry a few links of chain and repair it rather than replace it right?

My buddy carries enough to replace it. do it in 2 pieces complete short then enough to make short one into long one with 2 master links.

u can only repair a chain if you can find it laying in the snow, if you cant find it then what?

Things I currently carry:
Metric 8,10,12,14 socket/wrench
Standard 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 socket/wrench
Metric and Standard Allen Wrenches (chaincase, barkbusters)
Zip ties
black tape
pliers

Things I should carry:
small spool of bailing wire
rope
extra nuts/bolts (especially for strut rod on MH frame)
extra sprocket
2 master links

what do you carry your stuff in and where did you get it?

I carry tools in my backpack but got a tool bag that is way to bulky and heavy to be in there

rush has got a pretty good start.

in addition

I found an atv bag abd mounted it on my frame ahead of the gas can. about 10' X 14'

right now I have a complete spare chain, about to ditch it... I have had no probelms, will be replacing that with a small beaver tooth chain breaker, a file ( if all else fails) little punch to knock out broken link, several master links, small vice grip to put on o ring master link, some small nuts and bolts, a little wire and duct tape.

sort of a collection somewhere between my yz/wr 250, m8, cat atv, tool kits. I keep all this in a tool warp......tradition I there guess, using one from HPE right now in three of my rigs. I'm usually the tool whore in my riding groups, problem, everyone looks at me says get out the tools, in charge of getting home.

I'm a tool whore 2, big time whore! The guy who carries it all always has something someone needs! Parts cost alot more in the backountry right?
