Got to thinking last night, upgrade the '10 Dragon 800 with SLP pipe set (already have PCV), timbersled a-arms and rear skid with Fox float X.
Going by published weight loss, will get this IQ down to the neighborhood where a stock PRO weighs, and dollars to buy parts/ trade mine in and get new PRO about a wash. Woould the IQ with those upgrades rock a stock PRO? Or would it beat it by just a lil bit? Or still be lagging behind due to new chassis' technology?

2 good options, new pro or turbo what ya have. Look at it this way you have a 800 dragon worth maybe 7000 max if ya had to sell, my friend just got one for 6500.00 mint.. now you put 2500.00 into it you have a 800 dragon worth 7000.00, that may or may not have massive engine issues down the road. IMHO

I'd take the Pro over a IQ turbo with all the suspension goodies. I liked my D8 but the Pro is the bee's knee's.

Other than a straight up shot, the Pro will rock the D8T in any situation. Your best option would most definitely be to go with the Pro.

I have a 09 D8 w/SLP Pipe, shaved head, cylinder porting, reeds,SLP airkit. The sled works great fun to ride but, I had my brothers new Pro RMK for a month before he could make it out and pick it up and I would take the stock Pro over my D8 in a heart beat. It did not have the top end my D8 did but it more than made up for it in how lite it was and how it handle, flat out a fun and easy sled to ride! For what it is worth in my opinion go with the new Pro and you will not regret it. Turbo the Pro next year after they get the setups fine tuned.

What conditions/terrain/style do you ride mostly??

The PRO chassis RMK's handle better than the IQ's (even with great skids in them) mostly for 3 major reasons
1) Narrow Body/chassis width
2) Better steering geometyr/ergos
3) Lower CG from a lower placed engine

The remainder... the rear skid and the front suspension become mute points with aftermarket components on the IQ.

I say... without hesitation... Go with the PRO... You will be happier...

HP is not the ONLY thing.... Unless you are mostly a drag racer or hillclimber.... then the differences are diminished.

My 2010 d8 has full slp setup, slp intake, pc3, power addiction 13.5 head, 60hp nitrous, holz front end, timbersled rear, and a load of other goodies. I did everything I could possibly do to make it more comfortable for ME, and I would honestly ride a stock pro over it any day. I felt more comfortable on a pro in the first five seconds than I have after two seasons on my d8. To be honest, IMO there is nothing that can be done to a d8 to make it half the sled that the PRO is stock. For the record my d8 does smash the pro(in a straight line), but I'd expect it to, only thing is....it sucks in comparison. Go for the pro!

Hey sorry late to my own party, Vegas called !! hahaha
Spent last year w/o a sled as my workplace went titters. Opened my own biz and things have gone nicely, to the point where I bought my '10. Main reason I went for it, knowing it wasn't the "latest and greatest" was because I just don't ride enough miles to justify the extra $$ to step up to the PRO ( extra $5g plus tax! ) so Dragon it is. Don't get me wrong, the Dragon kicks azz compared to the M7 I had before, so as far as enjoyment factor goes, I'm lovin it!! As far as the "mod bug" goes I just wanna start tweaking :face-icon-small-hap.
My thinking is leave this one stock, and ride er as is for this season and next, then let the kids have it while I treat myself all over again :face-icon-small-ton

I thought about this as well. In the end, I've decided to mod my 09 700. Currently have SLP pipe, hi-flo kit, SLP clutch kit, Boss seat, Powder Pros, Fox Float2 ski shocks, Timbersled A-arm kit. Saving up for the Mtn. Tamer. Engine might get SLP's Perf. Edition porting done this summer while while I'm refreshing the top end (currently 4300 miles on it). I'm putting off getting a Camo CE 155" track until next year. Dealer installed a new clutch right (no cost to me - ext. warranty paid for itself here) after I found a problem with it.
