Hi.
I know this is a good opportunity to start a trash thread so please keep it clean guy's;)
I'm looking to buy a new sled (2010 mod) but I'm not sure which one, I know it has to be a mountain sled but which brand of sled I'm not completely sure of.
I own a 07 D7 155" which had some problems with the ECU when I got it, but runs nice now.
I've been looking at the 10 Assault, but keep hearing storys about track's breaking apart and engines that blows. The Yammis I have no experience with and sorry to say but when it comes to looks the Cat's have never appealed to me.
So? What are the advices among the sleadheds on this forum? All answers are welcome:beer;:)

Test ride any and all the sleds you can.
Opinions are like azz holes. everyone has one ..........

which sleds had which problems doesn't really mean much when you are looking at sleds that have no real seat time on em. Won't know which sled has problems till midway thru the next season.

My last six sled purchases have been Polaris. With all their recent problems and lack of quality control, I'm thinking seriously about jumping ship.

The last time I posted which way I was inclined to jump, I was called a "troll" and given red rep.....So, this time, I"ll just keep my big mouth shut and my wallet in my pocket......My '04 Edge has 5,000 miles and my RMK 700 backup has 6,200 miles......I'll just stay on top of my of my wrenching and ride them another year or maybe more.......

What exactly do you mean 2010 MOD?? If you plan on buying a new sled and have the bucks to MOD it, I'd just go ahead and get a Yamaha, lightweight it and turbo it. DONE!!

ride um and decide what YOU like and what fits YOUR needs.

I wouldn't leave it up to a bunch of strangers on the innerweb to decide what sled to ride. Hell I wouldn't even let my best friend tell me what to ride!

Guess I like to do things myself :beer;

what kind of riding do you do?
boondocker? hillclimber? jumper? all of the above?

All the above, and into jumping you could add a little ramp action alsow

I'm with you on this.
Maby I was to unclear in my questione but what I wanted to find out was if there where any sled's out there that was atleast 80% proof so that I don't have to miss a whole season just cause some Joe Shmoe fell asleep at the assembly line, cusing the crank to blow, track to rip, ballbearings to shread etc etc....
And of course, if there are any other options than the Assault which I must confess I got a soft spot for....

I would have to give AC the props for least problems and as far as looks, they don't have anything to do with riding.

JMHO

Ride the sleds and go from there. Don't buy into all the hype about blown motors, tracks, drive shafts, flux capacitors, etc. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but the 4M's really put so much bad press out there.

Rode the new nytro at Yamafest in Revy, felt really nice to ride. Boosted is better of course. Rode an 09 XP, amd loved the way it handled too, but not easy to boost. All the new sleds have there + and - but for reliability i like the nytro.
