what spark plug for 06 800HO??

I was told you can run a different plug in the 06 800HO other than the $5-7 buck a piece plug the manual says (BR9ECS) is this true? thanks

I believe you can run the BR9ES also. The BR9ECS has a different strap which somehow helps reduce the chance for meltdowns I am told. I run the BR9ES in my 2004 Rev 800. You could also go up one heat level to the BR8ES.

The ECS is supposed to reduce detonation but it's BS. I've only ever ran the BR9ES and no problems. Runs great.

Just went to the Auto Parts store two weeks ago. Bought 2 BR9ECS plugs for $3.99 each.
I just changed my plugs for the first time in an 05 sled. They still were not fouled and the electrode showed hardly any wear.
How much cheaper can I get than that?

My sled needs new rings and pistons more often than plugs.

I thought they started with the ECS plugs when they had the piston problems on the 800.
I have also found that if you go to a regular parts store the price is about half, only the powersports dealers want to screw ya. I found the same thing when buying plugs for 01 CR250.

We have ran BR9ES in everything with no problems. It isn't to save us money though since it would really be only an extra $4 a year, we do it because they are easy access for us.
