4yr warranty or 2yr and $600???

I can't decide. The 4 year is what is and will help resell. However, I could use the $600 for spare belt, oil, bags, skid plate, slp can maybe, plus some other little things. The accessories also help the resell.

I am curious what most people are going with.

Thanks.

oh, how much is extended warranty say after my two years are up and I want to extend for two more. I think it is less than $600

The accessories won't help as much as the warranty in my experience. I think most people see accessories as something thrown in to sweeten the deal. I think warranty is something some people will not do without.

Going with the 4 year for sure, $600 isn't nothing if the motor goes in the 3rd year and I'm out $2k

Go 4 year. I got a hold over 11 with one year warranty got the option to get 4 year in the mail a couple days they want $1500 for it.

I think its a great deal, not worth going accessories over the 4 year.

I'm in Canada and our max is a 3 year warranty.....apparently we ride harder, as per Polaris. I'm getting the 3 year warranty, ride'er for 2 and sell'er with 1.

i don't think it's even a question for me. get the 4yr and only put on accessories that are easily removable just in case polaris starts denying warranties for things like aftermarket cans.

wow, I am surprised most are going with the 4 year. I have always taken extremely good care of my sleds and never had a warranty claim in over 10 years of riding with new sleds every 1-2yrs. I've always felt if something was going to happen it would happen in the first year. I guess the worst could be blown motor but I was thinking that could give the excuse to mod it (rk 858).

But it sounds like the 4 year is the way to go.

I don't get the 3 year thing. Why would it be any different? I guess you guys get bent over.

you need to read the fine print on the 4 yr warranty there are alot of exclusions and you will find that the 4 yr is not worth the paper its printed on just my experience I'll do the 2 yr with the money off the purchase price thats what I did on my 2012.

I have read the paperwork very thoroughly and it’s no different in the first 2 years then it is in 4. Also after talking with my local dealer they have a lot more pull to get things covered if you have a warranty regardless if it was one of the small exclusions you speak of. All the items that are not covered are standard things like any other warranty that will need replacement or maintenance such as the belt, track, hyfax, ect. With how many people have had there share of issues, almost and I say almost everyone that had a warranty had the issue covered. So to say the warranty isn’t worth the paper its printed on is just ignorance.
But this is just my $.02 and no means of argument

In general I find any warranty a waist of money, as there are so many loopholes written in they normally weasel out of paying anyway. Also as there is no dealer locally for me ( 300 miles plus away) it is cheaper and easier for me to fix it right to start with and not have to figure in transportation cost and other inconvieneces. But that's just my view and experiences.

It's funny how often the rest of us are reminded of this. Anyway, I believe that is Polaris' excuse for poor dealer network in CN. No country rides harder or better than the other. That privilege comes down to the rider.

2k won't touch a n ew short block. My 11 broke a cyl skirt and went through the case. Had the second yr pwr train warranty. The parts guy says a short block sells for $4800.00!!!!! I'm going with the 4 yr also, and my dealer says the warranty left on it, if I trade in after 2 yrs, will be worth more in trade allowance.

JB seems like you get a new sled every coulpe of years. so that being the case Id say the warranty makes for better resale than Acc. I usually take whatever Acc. will cross over with me or sell them.

Please don't spread nonsense like that, the warranty is like any other vehicle warranty. Doesn't cover owner-inflicted damage, abuse, and/or wear/tear items, and/or damage resulting from modifications. Pretty standard stuff.

People hear advice like this.....then they are on here 2.1 years down the road whining "I just blew my (XYZ expensive snowmobilie part) 2 months out of warranty and Polaris told me to pound it....what gives???"

For guys who do all their own wrenching and can jimmy anything together in the garage....more power to you. Many people don't have the tools, knowledge, or time and just want to ride. So to blanket that the warranty option is junk is misleading, IMO.

Ya, I wanna a 163 this time..also find it's just easier to just get a new sled every couples year instead doing a full mod sled anymore.

me too! kinda

Stockers are not what the used to be! I say buy a stocker bolt on turbo, ride till it breaks and repeat!
