What should I do?

Hey guys I'm going to be heading out to West Yellowstone Montana for the winter next year and I want to have a sled (granted) so I was wondering would it be better to wait and pick one up out there or to get one now and be able to do the basic mods during the summer? I was thinking of I got one before I could set it up for my self and be ready to go when I get there or get one out there and have it be already clutch and jetting wise and tinker with it out there in my trailer? Also what is a good mountain sled to purchase for around 3,000? I was thinking M7 or Summit. Something that I can mod as my ability's grow but definitely in the 150's for track length.

Thank You For Your Time,

~Chris

In that price range the best thing you could buy (IMO) is a Polaris 800 RMK, edge chassis.

3 monthes from now will be the cheapest time to buy a used sled. October on they will be more expensive. Look this summer for someone needing to move it bad. With a price tag of around 3k, you won't be able to get a whole lot knocked off but it might be enough to personalize it to your likeing.

At that price range you will prob be lookin at 02 -04 poo 800 in the edge, If you can find an M7 for any where near that I would pick it up asap. Have a roomate with an M7 for sale 06 with 1800mi and he is looking at 5500 out of it, I have an 02 800 poo for sale 3400 with a brand new rebuild. 3 to 4 k might get you an older rev. Good luck I wouldn't buy now, work and save through the summer and see how new you can pick up in the fall.
