What pistons to buy

Lost the compression in the mag side this weekend on my 05 900, pulled the EV and looks like I will need a new set of pistons and rings. What is the best piston to buy Wiseco, OEM, or otherwise. Would like to buy as a kit with gaskets if possible.:face-icon-small-sho

2006 OEM pistons are the best piston to use. DO NOT USE 05 pistons, DO NO use SPI pistons.

here is the polaris part number 2203098

just ask for the Polaris 900 pistons. all number should supersede to the 06 i would hope by now... at least at my two dealers they did... OEM FTW...

unless you wanna shoot chunks of piston thru the block then i suggest spi. :P

As odd as it seems, I was just able to look up 05, and 06 pistons on the Polaris fiche from Carls.... the 05 pistons are still available.
Z-Man provided the correct part number for the 06 versions..... #2203098

Just make sure you order the 06's:face-icon-small-coo

probably a lot of 05 pistons were made and sent to dealers when the sleds came out that are still kicking around of shelves. I have seen new 05 pistons for sale on ebay.

really.... hmm i guess the people still want there paper weight?

i ordered and installed the wiseco kit.........but i have yet to fire it up

just got my FBF cable today so maybe tomorrow after work

wiseco seem to have a good fit, and the skirt seemed a bit longer than the stocker (i didnt measure anything on the rebuild)

Wiseco makes good pistons for most applications no doubt, but their pistons are forged and expand and contract more with temp changes. What this boils down to is more care and time is needed for proper warm-up's.
