what oil are you using to oil the turbo, I bought a cpi kit used (my first turbo). Just a synthetic motor oil?

Im running amsoil domimator full synthetic 2 cycle oil in mine. Boondockers has some turbo specific oil out now.

I have some mobile one 5w30 full synthetic leftover that I am not useing in any thing so I am useing that.
Car oil or injection oil. doesnt really matter with a ball bearing turbo. just get lighter weight car oil because of the cold temps. I prefer the car oil just because it is what I usually run in all my turbo stuff. usually a turbo shares the same oil as the engine it is hooked up to. I have rolled my sled too much one day and it got low. I have a led light hooked up to a hobs switch so it turns on if the oil presure is too low. I didn't have some extra with me that day so I tiped my sled over to get some two stroke oil out of the injection tank and put it in the turbo oil tank. I now keep a small container of oil in my back pack incase that happens again. If your oil tank doen't have a good enough check system in it to make sure oil doesn't get back in the turbo when you roll it some oil will get in the turbo and into the pipeing and posibly engine. that is why boondocker used to recomend runing 2 stoke oil in their turbo kits.

oil

mobil one 0w-40 motor oil...I was told this was designed specifically for turboed auto applications. I have heard (2nd hand) that the 2 stroke oil can gum up in the center section over time but again that was second hand.

Pretty much all synthetic oil from mobile one says designed for turbo charged applications on the back label.
It almost does not matter what car oil you use. Just use low viscosity because of the cold temps and I use synthetic just because it is not useing up very much oil so what the hell..
I know of record setting 7.1x at 200+mph street legal turbo drag bikes that run non synthetic oil in the turbo and engine.
I have never heard of a turbo snowmobile with a damaged turbo that was because of oil except when it is not getting oil at all.

I run mobil jet. Its the oil that we run in the citation jet I fly. I really think any oil will work.

I run Mobil1 full synthetic 0w-40, it has good cold flow properties. I run the same journal bearing Mitsu turbo that CPI uses.

this is good stuff right here.

the 0-40 is nice as it helps the electric bumps get the oil to the thing while they are cold and just getting started, but then once the stuff is bakin *** hot, doesnt turn to water and not provide any protection.
