What oil to premix for the M1000

You can do some searching but oil threads are always hotly contested. I am coming down on the side of petroleum based oil for my sled. The cleaning of power valves more often is the downside. There is a very reputable engine builder in the Polaris world that has been suggesting synthetics do not work well in two strokes. He has considered voiding warranties on rebuilds if synthetics are used. The claim is the petroluem based oils mix better in gas, and leave a better residue preventing rust when not running. That is what I am doing YMMV. Cat green, $60 for 2.5 gal jug, clean the PV's every few rides, sleep better, with more money left in my pocket.
 
As I stated before the legend oil is a hybred oil that takes the best qualities of synthetic and petroleum oils. Your power valves remain very clean and lubrication is supperior this is very clean burning oil.
 
APV or Redline are the ones I have been directed to use by aftermarket companies.
 
Legend & redline are the oils that the most knowledgeable folks seem to run.
I run legend but have never had the chance to run redline so I have no idea how that compares. I've been premixing for quite a while now, can't say I've seen an issue with any oil mixing with the gas, but I've had ZERO problems since I've switched to legend.
 
Posting a question like this on here is like asking 100 different guys what kind of girls they like. You'd have better luck playing pick-up-sticks with your butt cheeks. I say go with a cheap girl that's doesn't take a lot of money and service her often. In other words......go with a cheaper petroleum oil and clean the powervalves regularly. Save your money from all the marketing BS and use it for gas! Just my opinion.

Dear Mr. Pick-up Sticks
You are the smartest guy on here, and it was you that made my little brain say " CLICK"! I always had more fun with the cheap ugly girls. However just as you stated a guy does have to worry about keeping things clean, because build-up can really be an ugly issue.

P.S. Why did you have to bring up the butt cheeks thing? Perhaps the lack of snow has you participating in other activities, anyway what oil do you premix?
 
I am actually a firm believer in Schaeffer's oil in all my "stuff". Family owned since 1839 and they don't just barely squeak by the minimum standards like most others on the market. It is actually a para-synthetic ashless oil, so you do have to clean powervalves often. In fact they say "not recommended for powervalve snowmobiles" because they have to cover there butt from the guys that never do any maintenance on there sleds. It's as good, if not better than anything else on the shelf and it's only $18 a gallon. You know the old saying, opinions are like a*sholes, everyone's got one. Here's mine.

heard it's the same as redline
run both but prefer klotz
cheaper than a stuck piston and tore rod
but i run modified not stock
so you could get by with cheap oil in a stock machine
you get what you pay for
