What not to do on Baker

Gotta watchout for holes in the creeks on Baker...... This was from Saturday, to the right of the snow-bridge. The hole was about 10-12 ft deep. The rider and the sled got a little banged up but he rode it back to the truck. He wanted to say thanks for all the help getting the sled pulled out of the hole.

I talked to the rider today and he is still quite sore as you could imagine. his ego is a little bruised too! otherwise hes doing o.k. thanks keith and all who helped get him out of that hole. could have been alot worse! i cant say much for the sled!

where on the mtn was the hole? which creek.

This was to the right of the snowbridge on the main trail; the same creek the snow bridge covers. It's at the base of peanut knob if your heading up the mountain. If you were able to follow this creek up hill (without falling in), it would take you up the backside of sulpha-morain.

it took about 8-10 guys, two ropes, and 4-5 shovels and about twenty minutes of grunting and the cat was out of the drink. not much energy left after that for sure!

I would send that into snobunje for their photo contest !!!!

I wish I had run into these guys on Saturday. A friend and I were up there, just down the first hill over railroad grade when my M9 decided to eat a piston. I'll bet 20 sleds went on by as my friend and I tried to tow the dead cat up that hill. We asked 2 separate groups to help and they said no! All we needed was one more sled to help tow it up that hill. After 2 hours and failing light we gave up. Went back on Sunday with more help and sure enough, 2 sleds hooked together pulled it right out of there. I hope those guys never need help on the hill!

Been there.... As much as it pi$$ed me off when it happened to me, I still always try to help when it's needed. Keep paying it forward and it'll work out.
