How long of riser can you get away with without lengthening any wires or cables on a 09 M8. Any one have any suggestions on which ones they like best(style and fit).

I think i read 5" but i know 4" for sure, i just went with a 3" powermadd cheap and it works for me i am 6 feet i can stand or sit comfortably but i have a boss seat which sits me a bit higher for the times i feel i need to sit.
X2 on the Ole's riser.
X3 on the Ole. I have a 4" riser on my M1000 and i'm pretty sure i could of went with a 5".
I managed to get a 5 1/2 but cut it down to 4 3/8" with a 20* forward angle. I'm 6'6" and any taller you can't really use your body weight to pull the sled around, you have to use your arms more and I felt like I didn't have as much control as I do with them shorter.
On the 2009 you can do a 4" rise without cable lengthening. The 2007-2008 seems to start pulling hard with anything above 3". The cables and the routing pattern is different on the 2009 so you can pull it a bit higher.
Ole's good and also AMP or Aftermarket products has a real nice riser that looks good and is strong.
You get 5" or more and I think you are asking for trouble with the leverage you are putting on the post.

If you reroute the throttle cable you can run a 4" on a 07-08 and a 5" on a 09 without buying any extensions. Buy the 09 post seems to be weaker than a 07, not sure it is, but they bend easy at the top mount point. I cut mine in half and added a peice of pipe to the inside, works great now.
