What Klim Jacket to get?

I have never owned a Klim jacket before and thinking of getting one. What is the one to get for mountain riding? Which one is everyone using?

Valdez all the way! Wear layers underneath depending on temps and riding style. Plenty of room at all the joints for full movement and lots of pockets for keys, rescue laser, fire starter, wallet, camera, etc.

I don't like putting stuff in my pockets creating bulk so I don't need much pocket space, so the pullover is my choice. Worn it for a few years now with zero issues.

Valdez! Its a gortex shell with little to no insulation so that you can control the temperature according to your riding style. If you're throwing your sled around and sweating a lot, layer less. If you're just trail riding or you get really cold, layer more. IF you're partial to Klim, get the aggressor base layer and inferno mid layer.

TIP: don't layer with cotton clothing...cotton kills. Use fleece or some other synthetic material that will wick away moisture/sweat instead of absorbing it all and staying soaking wet.

We picked Momma up a new Tomahawk last year and I was really impressed with it, cut shorter than the Valdez and she is really short waisted, so it's a good fit, really well ventilated, and I see the new model is even more ventilated.

I'm not much into putting stuff in my pockets either, hard stuff in pockets fricken hurts when you crash/fall off/down as much as I do!

I'm looking for a new coat . . . torn between the Tomahawk and the Storm. Not crazy about the pullover (like the look though) as I have two banged up shoulders. Besides I can unzip the coat at a break/stop and vent without having to remove the coat or my backpack.

I don't get cold much, so looking for a shell and good venting. I wear an old Rheima, great coat, but it's pretty tired, and all of our Klim gear is fantastic, great craftsmanship, quality materials and well thought out.

What a ramble, hope there is something of use in there. . . .

tomahawk vs. valdez

The Valdez is the only coat offered that is Three Layer and PRO SHELL. basically what this equates too is if you are extremely hard on gear, get the valdez. it will hold up better for longer. if you are the average rider who rides in the mountains once a week, the Tomahawk will suit you perfectly. THe valdez is designed for the most demanding rider who is in their gear multilple times a week for extended periods of time (guides, etc).

Which jacket has the most ventilation? My arms, below my elbows, sweat like a mother..... Do they all have zippers down the inside of the arms?

VENTING

all of the jackets in the aggressive line are highly vented. i would reccommend the tomahawk with the new improved intake and exhaust venting. if you like traditional "pit zips" that you are reffering to, go with the valdez.

I've got a Klimate parka but just ordered the Powercross pullover. The Klimate is nice when it's really cold, but the Pullover should be better for layering and spring riding.

Thank you everyone for your opinions. I have some shopping to do...now where should I order it from? lol

I'll be rockin the new KLIM Vector parka

I'm a big fan of the increased abrasion resistance that these have.

I'll do the KLIM Vector pant.... even more durable.... especially in the knees which is more compatible with hard knee protection systems.

for the same abrasion resistance.

The Vector looks nice, I run too hot for an insulated coat though, I'm looking back and forth between the Valdez and the Tomahawk. Hummmmmm . . . . . .

I went with the Tomahawk, i just got it. From what i understand unless you do lots of riding were you will be rubbing on trees and tree branches that you can do without the Pro Shell. So that's what i did, and i didn't like any of the colors for the Valdez. Either way i don't think you can go wrong with KLIM. But i did go with the TOG bibs since am hard on pants kneeling down crawling ect.

Another vote for the Valdez!!! Pro shell / three layer Goretex, cant' go wrong!

I own a pullover, the tomahawk and the Valdez.. Hands down my favorite and daily choice is the tomahawk.. I like the cut and it fits me best.
