Looking to buy my first set of Klim jacket/bibs. Always wore Castle gear but after buying a pair of Klim boots i was convinced to get geared up with all Klim. I ride mountains at best 10 days a year and an occational high speed trail ride back home. Im a very active/aggressive rider but have had alot of extremely cold -20F mountain riding days in the past. Looking for some help all of their different choices is a little overwhelming.

I use all of Klims uninsulated stuff and use there base and mid layers....i just got a pair of Tog bibs and the new Tomahawk jacket. the valdez is good also i just didnt like the colors....and i liked the new venting on the tomahawk. I also have a the inferno top and bottom and aggressor top and bottom. Pretty nice stuff and warranty. hope this helps....i also do all mountain riding...alot of choices.....lol. But if you are very active i would stay with the uninsulated stuff and layer correctly so u can add and take off. Kilms insulated stuff is...WARM!

Best setup for an aggressive rider (ie - throwing your sled around, sweating a lot and not sitting on your sled and riding trails)

Valdez parka
Togwotee bibs
Inferno shirt and pant
Aggressor shirt and pant

Summit gloves or Klimate gloves

I'm with Freak485 on the new Tomahawk, I just bought one and like it even better than the Valdez I bought this spring. I like it better because of the mesh in the vents, where the Valdez is totally open allowing snow in when open. I also have the togwotee bibs with a Klim tec vest, so I almost never wear a mid layer.

I am not sold on klim specifically for base and mid layers, IMO there are much cheaper alternatives that work just as well.

Valdez Jacket
Togwotee bibs
Free ride pants
Inferno top and bottoms
Summit gloves
Klim boots

The key is layering!!!!

I like to think I'm an aggressive rider, and I was on the snow 45+ days this winter (all mountains). I have the Tomahawk Jacket, and Freeride pants. I love this stuff. I stay warm and dry all day. Haven't had a problem yet! It's super durable and easy to move in. I also have a Klim Tekvest that I won't ride without. Saved my bacon more than once!

Bibs are definitely warmer than pants. I have the Freeride and love them. I have a Valdez and like it but with the pit zips and scratchers down snow comes in like the previous poster said. Lucky I don't ride the trails much. Also, I sweat faster than the Valdez can get rid of it and I have gotten wet from that, never from the jacket leaking rain or snow. Thinking seriously of getting the Motorfist Recon jacket for it's advertised breathability.

I wear the base layer top and bottom with the togwotee bibs and a powercross pullover. I almost never wear a mid layer.. Super Warm. Will never ride in anything else.

-20 is a little on the cold side.
No doubt.

But KLIM is all about LAYERING as everyone else has said.
