What Klim Bibs for snowbiking?

Hey guys, this is going to be my second season in snow biking and I need to get me a good set of bibs. I got a new Klim coat, Klim gloves, and Klim adrenaline boots last season but used some old worn out snowmobile bibs that I had around. What are your guys favorite bibs, what kind should I get? Thanks

I'm giving up on some of the snowmobile gear , especially the pants/ bibs , the free ride has been a great pant for me but the legs just can't with stand the abrasions . I'm thinking about trying their motocross pants .

I am going with the Klim Traverse pants. Leather on the inside for heat protection should help a lot.

I prefer the bibs been using bib style for 30 plus years ,Klim is on the top of list ,I really don't like the snow going where it shouldnt on the -15 temp days ,,haven't melted the inner legs on the exhaust yet ,but leather is a good idea

If there were bibs that were leather protected like my Klim Traverse pants I would have chosen bibs before pants. But with Suspenders and the Klim jackets that stop snow really good from coming upward, it works really good.

Have you used them in the snow? I am planning to look at a pair tomorrow.

If your concerned about the leather , there's no need , mink oil or what ever conditioner helps keep them soft .

I have a couple pair of the heavier water resistant motor cross pants that work well in above zero weather , but they have a tendency to build up a lot of condensation and get really stiff in colder weather . The upper end water proof material is hard to beat when it comes to keeping warm , dry and comfortable .

Anyone have the MSR over the boot water proof pant ?

I thinly the velcro would build up with snow at the bottom of the leg and come loose plus the have no gator at the bottom.

I looked at the lattitude pants yesterday.

They are very low cut. If my pack strap rides above the pant, snow comes in.

No gaiter + no way to tighten around boot = snow on leg and in boot.

No knee lift above my hips, and tight going up at all, even a size too big. Sometimes you snowmobile buddies get stuck and you walk a bit. Or hike into the wilderness a bit for the view.

If someone doesn't know of something better, I'll go with snowmobile pants and repair the inevitable damage with ballistic panels.

I'm reluctant to spend $800 on a pair of pants that are going to come apart but I also want a bib instead of pants. Wonder if Klim will have something better this year? Or someone else. I don't really care which brand so long as they work well and hold up.

I were KliM togwonee bibs THey have heavy cordura on the inside of the legs. In conjunction with a good pipe gaurd you will not have any problems. I have been wearing these for four years. I have not burned clean through yet. Klim has replaced them once because the gore tex was leaking but other then that they work great.

definitely make sure you have a good guard or wrap your pipe - Klim doesn't cover burns under warranty. I just found that out.

Anyone try the Vector pants? I don't want something with insulation (just a shell) and I think they do. The Dakar pants don't have gators and also have vents in some places that cannot be closed. Great for enduro riding but not snow biking IMO.

Just giving a report on the overland pant and can say that I'm not regretting them . The material is suited for the one ski and abrasion isn't noticed like it is on snow pants including the free ride which where my favorite . I wear Asterisk braces and the fit at first seemed to be snug compared to a snow pant but it didn't take long to realize that the fit is also supporting and not tiresome , the braces where also not noticeable like they where with the free ride . Putting them on with braces takes some adjusting to get use to since they don't open up along the whole leg but the comfort and support makes up for it . I have also noticed that I can gear up in the morning and by the evening when everyone else is ripping their gear off just to get out of it I have no problem till hitting the sack in the a.m. hours , that is how comfortable they are even lounging around .

The only complaint would be the velcro that can ball up with snow in certain conditions and of course the logo on the left knee is going to see a black permanent marker since the stitched logo attracts dirt like a magnet while the rest of the material wipes off with a slap of the hand .
.
Venting is adequate since you can open the front and back and the pockets work great for a phone and headlamp as long as you don't drop it in one of the thigh vents because it'll go all the way down to your ankle between the layers . The back of the waist has some minor height so as long as the gator in the jacket is snapped there's no concern for snow going up unless you part ways with the machine . One more thing , I was also concerned about them not having a gator , there's no need for one .
