What is your luck with throttle cable extensions?

I am putting a pivot style powermadd riser on my 02 RMK 800, and it has a 4" block on top oof that (about 6") overall.

I have a extended brake line, but I bought a Powermadd cable extension, but don't know of anyone using the extension before. Do they work OK, and are they reliable?

I have one on my edge and love it! Super easy to put on and never had a problem with it. I have heard the early ones (2001) had a problem getting moisture in them and would freez up. Since they have added rubber boots to stop that.

Thanks guys, given a couple of good recomendations I wil go that route rather than a $60 cable, good news is I can take the riser and extension with me to the next sled.

personally I would buy the cable. I have had it both ways and the cable is hands down the way to go, it pulls way easier, smoother and no messing around with the extension box.

I have the Powermadd extensions on mine and my wife's sleds and I think they work great. I used the little tube of grease that came with them and I don't feel any added resistance on the throttle.

Get the long cable

Those extenions suck! I used them for quite a few years on other sleds but now that you can buy long cables i wouldn't touch one. They make your throttle feal heavier (you will notice after time) and can freeze up even with lube in the box. I had one freeze up at the adjustment point one time, I started shrink tubing over it after that with silicone over the ends.
Look at WPS, SPI has one for $14. They even make them for older sleds that aren't listed. I had my parts guy call and WPS had one for an old Indy 500, on the shelf, that i put a 4" riser on for my kid. It was like $25 and it's clean and works great.

Well I have contacted several WPS dealers here and they all have said the extended cable prices are all typos, and try to sell the RSI ones in the older catalogs, or they won't order cause they need a $200 min order.

Im going to pickup the extension today and at least try it.
