What is this part I found kicking around the engine bay? [pic included]

found this sitting up by my spare belt yesterday when I was taking a break and looking things over. it almost looks and feels like it would fit in the shaft on the primary but I didn't want to force it in there before I knew what it was.

Hard to tell what size it is, But it looks like the bushing out of the end of the primary clutch cover.

That's originally what I thought too because it seems like it would fit in there but the parts diagram doesn't show anything like that on the primary cover.

This is on a '10 M8, forgot to mention that earlier.

I have a 2010 M8 and there is a bushing in the end of my clutch cover. Even thought it is not broke out on the diagram. Is yours missing? I heard of this happening on before on a 2010, Destroyers I think.

That the

Primary Bushing. I know that because it a 2010 M8 and that's common only on the 2010 M8.

Warranty New Clutch.

How can I verify for sure? Need a pic of the primary cover? Is it OK to keep riding it?

Could this be keeping me from hitting the RPMs I should be?

does it look used? if its new looking ill take that off you hands! lol!

you should be able to see if the bushing is in the cover just by looking at it on the sled.

a bushing that is screwed in the primary cover will affect rpms. it you pin it from a stand still it will probably rev out fine holding it pinned. but when cruising then pinning it or on and off throttle on the go... the sled will most likely bog or hesitate before it revs out again. had it happen on a '09 m8 this year. new primary under warranty and it runs like a top again.

That's what it was. We just got 3 feet of new snow here and I was worried this was going to kill my riding for the next couple days.

It's nice having Cutler so close by. Ran down there and they installed a new primary while I waited. Awesome service from those guys.
