what is this going to cost to fix.... diamond drive

5 miles or so on the recently gone through D/D. Prior to this season the D/D was gone through and got new bearings, seals, and fluid put in and only seen about 5 miles of running on it. I didn't do the work so I can't verify what got all done and if it was correct.

I am suspicious after looking at my AC service manual and to me it looks like the oil seal that goes towards the drive shaft was put in backwards. Don't have the tools or the know how to inspect the stuff.

Any D/D experts put some insite into my above concern????
This is on a turbo M7 and never had a single issue with the drivetrain of the sled last year. Just the motor problems. So since the sled was tore completely down this summer I figured I would get every last component gone through so I might have a more enjoyable season.

Thanks in advance for any insiteful info.

Also the bottom gear/shaft.......the one that drives the drivers completely locked up. No movement what so ever.

Also smells like someone was welding inside of it when I pulled it apart so I know it got very, very hot.

Big clunk while riding and then locked up when I was pulling 8 psi of boost or so. Kind of scary

Did whoever rebuilt it put oil in it after they were done? And can you take it back to them to get it fixed?

I hit a rock on a m8 and cracked the d/d, dropped all the oil out and did not now it till it did not move anymore, cost 1200.00 dollers at cat dealer.

Good luck getting them to cover anything. They will probably claim you caused the problem. I wouldn't have opened anything and took it back to them.

I wish you the best of luck.

looks 2 b there was no oil put in it . did they charge u for oil ? do u have receipts ? if so i hope they back up there work and hook u up or it could get messy ;)i remember last years feasko!!!!!!!!

Its going back to them tomorrow as they are closed today. Just want to see since I installed the drive in the sled that installation wouldn't cause this.

(since I installed the drive in the sled )

If I read that correctly...............................
They will say YOU should've put oil in since you installed it.

I made the same mistake on a driveline reversing block on a truck this fall.
I incorrectly assumed unit was shipped with oil in it since previous units were.

Got back from the dealer. I have to say huge props and thanks to Eric at Racinstation for stepping up to the plate. Unbelievable customer service that I have never before experienced from a dealer and is very hard to find in a dealer. Seemed to be a little mix up on my drive on oil when I picked it up early this year but all is good as I am taken care of on my trashed D/D. For him to offer and give me the D/D off of his personal sled to temporarily get me up until they can fix my diamond drive is huge in my book and earned huge respect from me. Have a long trip to the snowies planned this week with cabins reserved he really has stepped up and has saved me a huge amount in sled rentals for 3 days that I was looking at riding. I have a spare sled but it already being ridden by my dad for this trip. He only rides once a year so that is another reason I have an extra sled is for the pops to ride when he wants to come on a trip.

Just off that customer service alone I know Eric has earned my business for sled purchase and service needs in the future.

I just know Eric from what he posts here. But he is one of the best dealers around wish I had a Close Dealer like him.

Lost a dd last year and Eric had me going the next week. I'll give him props on that as well! Good job Eric!!

heck ya . what a show of class . many dealers could us a page out of erics book on customer service . great job eric . glad u hooked my brotha up .
