What is the shift actuator and gear indicator switch?

what year sled? sounds like the reverse shift actuator on 07-08 w/ mechanical reverse maybe? Thats what AC calls the servo motor w/ shift actuator on it that moves shift fork in DD case to put it in reverse. And there is a gear indicator switch of sorts that mounts up by shift fork i think it senses what position its in so actuator knows which way to shift and so it doesn't go into reverse while ridding. If they were disconnected i would guess symptoms would be no reverse?

It's a mod sled, 05 M6 bulkhead, 06 DD, and a 07 M1000 engine with a turbo. Guess that's why it's not connected, the m1000 has no reverse? I guess.. I was just wondering. Just did a track change and finding my way around these M-series sleds.

just leave all that reverse stuff unhooked and it bypasses everything al.

just had to do this on the mtn last week, my m8 stock diamond drive took a dump on the first day last week, jeff overnighted me a 09 (without mechanical reverse) to me and i slapped that in and bypassed all the 07-08 reverse stuff just like the setup you have. works fine, prolly end up going to the bdx setup and shaving a few more lbs in the process.

on a side note, the 09 diamond drive is 6-8lbs lighter (hand scale, guessing) then the 07-08 diamond drive, but still not as light as the 05-06.
