Rode a Nytro for 3 days last week. What is it suppose to do other then assist in stopping?

Cool sled but not for me.

it not that yamaha just put it on , it comes with being a 4 stroke . this year with the nytro they tryed to reduce it a bit . once you figure out how to use it you'll like it . It was also a huge problem when yamaha intoduced the first 4 stroke mx bikes . guys would chop the throttle and go over the bars but once they got used to it , it helped them slow down going into the corrners and they became faster riders .

I thought my REV slowed down quick, but after riding the Apex the first time I almost went over the bars too. I really like it though especially going down those steep hills. Helps you from going 80 mph down the hill when you don't want to. To disengage it when going downhill all you have to do is hold the brake until the RPMs get low enough to let it spin freely. Same as my REV. I called it my down hill assist on my sled. I hated it until I learned how to control it now I love it.
Just have to get used to letting off the gas a little slower instead of completely letting off all at once.

Haha... been there, ALMOST done that. The first time I rode a 4-stroker was back on '03 at the Snowest ride in I.P. I borrowed a Cat non-turbo 4-stroke from Brian Nelson who was working out of West.......... anyhow............

I get all my gear on and gonna go for a quick little test ride around that Bills Island area.
I head out from the lot going easy, cause there was a road to cross about 200 yards away.
I let go of the throttle at the crossing, like I'm riding my 2-stroke, and embarrassingly plant my head-in-helmet into the bars and windshield. :o :o

Now that I ride a turbo verson of that sled of my own, I have to rem'br to tell people behind me to not depend on seeing my stop light, cause I seldom use the brake.
4-strokes are different, but you get used to it soon and never think about it.

Despite the extra weight of the machine, I like the quiet (the track makes more noise than the engine) no exhaust smoke, and I can ride 100 miles at altitude, and burn only 5 to 6 gallons, yet the thing will lift the skis at over 50MPH if you punch it.
