What is the best way to increse fuel pressure with a turbo Apex?

I am thinking I have hit a threshold of how much fuel I can pump through my 450 cc black mcx injectors on our Apex 450 kit. I know many of the competeing turbo builders run different fuel regulators. Is it as simple as removing the stock fuel regulator and putting in an adjustable one? Any reccomendations on what to run as far as a good regulator with a gauge?

What indication do you have that your running out of fuel? With this kit what size turbo and how much boost are you running?

that depends on whether you regulator is maxed out or not, yah as long as it is the same application regulator. ie 1 to 1 boost sensing whatever you are running now just a higher psi adjustment & your fuel pump will handle the exsess psi. i would think your injectors would be the limiting factor.

they run the 450hp front mount race kit from mcx its a big dual scroll turbo cant remember the model # beleave it will make 25+lbs

I am running approx 28 psi with the MCX 450 Borg Warner monster turbo. Not totally sure on the size of it but its substancially larger than a 32 series garret. I have two of the 320 lph walbro pumps so flow definitly isn't an issue. I cannot get it to run clean over 22 psi. If I continue to add fuel it runs cleaner but I am not able to add any more now as I have maxed my injector pulse legnth. This is why I am thinking more fuel presure is the answer. This sled has always had a lean spot in the bottom end as well that would also go away with more pressure. I am also not able to run nos at full boost as it just exaggerates the lean top end as well. I am also suspecting the valve springs may be lifting as well. Can anyone tell me at what psi the stock spings start to float on an Apex?

what kind of fuel pressure are you running, most guys i know running anything over 18lbs change valve springs on the apex. i know alpine recomends them when they do motor for big boost & so does chuck at lakeside.

i don't know anything about the mcx control box but make sure whatever map sensor your using will read enough boost. if it is a typical 3 bar sensor then that will be your issue as they will stop reading somewhere between 22 and 24 psi. i've been having that issue on my sled. havn't found a reasonably priced good alternative yet for a 4 bar sensor. just a suggestion but may not be your issue.
