What is the Best Tunnel bag? Or Boss seat? for storage

Just wondering what everyone is doing for storage on the new pro ride. A tunnel bag or the Boss seat.

From personal experience with three different Polaris tunnel bags on our sleds (small under seat tool bag, larger switchback style under seat bag, and a rear shovel bag) they fit great but the zippers leak and the inside of the bags get moist. My tool roll in the under seat bag has mold growth. If I was to do it again, I would seriously look at the Skinz gear bags. They have zippers that look like they would keep out some of the moisture. Hard sided Pelican Case or Powder Keg storage might also be an option.

I went with the Skins Bag.. Under Seat area..

thinkin i am also going to use my old Tunnel Bag... Also Skins..

I order clips that get riveted to the tunnel.. so i can take the bag off and on when i want..

In this bag will fit water bottles Sno Bungee and shovel!

On my IQ I found the Polaris underseat bag is only good for stuff that you're ok getting wet. I keep my SnowBungie & water bottle in there. For the tunnel I had good luck with the QRS system and have a bag and/or gas can that I put on there. Windshield bag for a hat, camera or GPS and chap stick (that's all that'll fit). Will do the same form my Pro.

I just got done researching this myself. There are some cool ideas out there. Skinz stuff is great but I didn't want to rivet into my tunnel. I wanted to make use of the channels in the tunnel instead. I checked out the Mountain addiction stuff and they have good stuff. Two problems there. One, all the fuel tanks and bags are propriatery. So you have to buy their fuel cans. Two, I heard when the plastic channel gets cold, it can be tough to remove their cans/bags.

So, I went with the Craigerbuilt can and tank. Looks like good stuff. They have a adapter for the Polaris tunnel and you can strap any can (that fits) into their can pack. Comes off easier than Mountain Addiction and I got a smoking snow show deal.

I'm not knocking the other products (other than my review) just giving my $.02. Others might find they prefer the other brands.

Here is a distant pic from last weeked:

^^ I noticed your suitcase ^^ Here's mine on my IQ. I have the gas can too. I like that you can just pull the handle and bring it inside at the end of the day.

the craigerbuilt website isn't very useful. I assume the bottom plate is just plastic and isn't very heavy then?

The storage method on the tunnel/seat is the same on the PRO as the RAW IQ...

My combo on the IQ is the SPG underseat bag and SPG Waterproof tunnel bag... no rivets needed ... I had them on my sled for the past 2 seasons and loved them.

I'll see if I can get some pics on MY sled of these bags... I've absolutely abused them and they have not skipped a beat.

For those of you with photo gear that want a submersible box that has a "pick n pull" foam system...they have a hard box setup called the "Black Box"... I'll be trying that this year.

Yeah, they do look big, but my goal is to get some weight off of my back. And we we are hanging out in a particular area, I can take the bag off (my shovel, probe and essentials are in my ABS pack).

I agree about taking the pack off. I've only used it twice now and it is nice to put in the truck while moving down the road and easily take it off to go in the house. It makes the 4 buckle system seem tedious.

I'm going to do the under the seat Skinz bag.

mountainhorse,

how does the skinz powderpak attach then?

It comes with bolts for the stock "T-slot" system for the female end of the Quick clips.... the bag snaps on and off easily.

I looked at the Craigerbuilt and Mt Addiction products... very nice quality too.

i went with the polaris tunnel bag, not much room in there might end up with a under the seat bag as well. i think the boss seats would be great, plus the weight of everything you put in there will be closer to the center of the sled.

Take a look at the Sled Solutions E-Series tunnel bags. I really like mine and have had no trouble with moisture leaking into it. Paul is great to deal with and he'll make you a deal if you buy a bag and a shovel.

I would go with the Skinz seat and bag combo over the Boss seat. A lot of people have complained about the quality of Boss lately. Regardless, I like the Skinz narrow seat and the bag is pretty cool. Here is a pic, obviously Yamaha, but you get a feel for it.

I saw the skinz setup at the SLC sled show and thought it was pretty nice. The underseat bag has more room due to the way the seat's positioned. I've loved the bags in the past (zipper quality, bag doesn't let water in and heavy material) but what's everyone think of the skinz seat? Is this their first go around in this area?

.

I really like both the QRS system from craiggerbuilt, and the Polaris shovel bag. I keep my tools and tow strap in the shovel bag, and that leaves my QRS bag for food and beverages so they don't get smashed together. Being able to take the QRS off in under 1 sec is a nice feature for sure!:D
