What is the best track for boost

There may be a thread on this but I went back a ways and didnt see much- Thinking bout goin with a twisted pg setup and probably kmod with the raptor shocks looks like the ticket, the powder claw wont hook up now just spins, the lugs are all bent over and its only got 1500 miles on it. So I would think it would be much worse with that much more power- just seeing what you guys are running with a 153". I dont know if there are many other options besides challenger/ C extreme. I have also heard people say these dont last long and the customer service sucks. appreciate the input. Sled is a '11 m8- thanks

I run a 2.5 camo extreme and love it. It's the new generation CE (9175) and I find it is excellent in all snow conditions from deep powder to set up spring snow. It is great in all terrain from climbing to boondocking. I have ridden with guys using the 3" camo and that thing climbs like a mo fo but I find it too grabby/pushy in the trees with heavier snow for boondocking. If you are just all about climbing, the 3" is the clear choice. For a mixed terrain rider, I would suggest the 2.5 camo. I actually found the older generation 2.5 camo a lot more grabby and pushy than the new generation paddle design. The 3" still uses the old paddle design.

I also just bought the Kmod rear skid with the Raptor reservoir coil overs. I am excited to see how this skid performs this winter, can't wait!

And I also noticed the powerclaw didn't want to hook up after I boosted my sled. Big difference going to the CE 2.5. Identical sleds, same boost, one with CE 2.5 and me with my powerclaw.....I got owned in hill climbs. Track makes a big difference.

Hold on a minute, where do you ride. If you ride on the west coast then you prob want to go with the CE but if you ride in MT/WY the powerclaw is better, 1500 hard miles on a 80 duro powerclaw and it turns into 70 duro. I would just run the 85 or 90 duro 153 power claw around here.

I still prefer the PC on a turbo, but like Wyo said, I think the 85 would be a good mix.

Rode this CO Matt this year with the newer CE & I'm really impressed with that track, even though he's pushing a bit less boost than me, his out of the hole performance is better (longer track than mine too keep in mind), but it did seem to bite very well without digging bad like the older CE. If they made that track in a 141 I'd have it on my sled already! (hell, I'd have the 3" on if they made it in a 141!!!:becky:)

I ride Interior BC, Shuswap, Sicamous, Revelstoke. The snow seemed pretty similar around Kalispel Montana last time I was there. Does it change in Wyoming, lighter/dryer?

It must, When I was over in WA and riding from McCall to trustle creak even the pow was not as light and there always seemed to be a better base. Even there from my experience the PC did better. Out here the CE is straight up a trencher where as the pc gets up and goes. Although I have not seen any of the newer CE's around here so I would think they are better but when you see a APEX running 14lbs with a AC skid and PC at 15" wide instead of 16" stomping the pis$ out of everything else from stopped to the top its pretty convincing. Everyone says it gave it a rip your arms off feeling compared to the others.

Thanks for the imput, I have a 1100T 162 on order and have no experience at all with the PC. I ride in CO and WY and was thinking it wouldn't be enough track and was going to switch it out before even running it.
Now thinking I will give it a try.

Yes, my thoughts exactly between the old and new paddle design of the CE 2.5. And in the heavier set up spring snow it feels more like my PC did as far as boondocking characteristics. It will break out and spin if you need it too where as the old paddle design, I found, had more of a tendency to just dig in and push. Sometimes you need it a little greasy under the track. I also agree that the new higher duro of the PC will make it just that much better than it already is.

To be honest I was very sceptical of the new CE's flat tips on the paddles at first. I thought they would hurt the traction a lot, but quite the contrary. It's a nice balance between the old style CE and my previous PC. But different snow conditions do negate different track styles. I do get to ride a ton of fluffy powder every season but the really super dry champagne powder that some see at the very high elevations, I don't.

I'm thinking Road trip!!! lol

Thanks for the input- yea maybe the harder duro would hold up better... I do like it for boondocking/climbing. I just figured with the added power she wouldnt hook up.. maybe ill try the PC. I do ride primarily in wyo but I ride the long tracks around here a bit too- alot of fun no studs required lol.

Once I rode the 3in C/E nothing eles matters.

Thats the track I will be running very soon! Hey Shain! I sent that D and D pipe to you a few days ago so you should be seeing it very soon. Can't wait to ride a 300+ hp machine!

WYO I have a pc 162 that will be for sale fairly soon, 500 miles on track, no missing lugs, no missing clips, its on a 09 m1000.

Did use the PC 90duro last season, and I think it sucked on my sled, maybe it works well on the <200hp sleds, but on mine 230hp+ I did not get the performance that I was after.
Was like the tips was too soft, and my track did not get more than 1000km on my sled from it was new till I changed it out..

Going with the new CE 2,5" this season...

buying a new (to me) turbo M8, it has a 153....Any thoughts on the length? how does it work with a PG setup? and an 09 sno-pro....what track brand did they usually come with?

I love mine. 09 pump has. 09-newer get the pc. 153 is the best overall IMO.

Pc is great for our CO snow.

I ran a TM901 153" last year with PC and Geo Mod

the track would stay on top very well, did not trench like the old 2.5CE was running 240Hp, boost at 9 lbs on 100ll, in fact on a few occasions I tried to bury it for a sled anchor and it would just pop up on top. that new 9175, and the Peak look awesome if I had an extra $G laying around, I would get Kmod first, 9175 second. Don't sell the PC short it's a very good track. at least in the Pacific North West
