Ok....so first I have an 13' PRO. So mods to engine aside. Which upgrade is the best money spent. Shocks.....Gear down.....36" A-arms......Skid upgrades? I would like feed back from those who have actually done the mods. I'm leaning towards doing the A-arms first. I just want an opinion from those who have done something to their sleigh and then been like holy sh*t I should have done that sooner!! Thanks in advance.

I do not see any upgrades... 10 years ago sleds needed upgrades to work. This mtn specific sled comes with the upgrades. You do not need to lighten it up, doesn't need new boards, new suspension, new seat, none of that. If you have money you just want to burn, just cuz, I can send you my paypal addy:face-icon-small-hap

3" track. Best bang for your buck to put a higher mark on the hill and deeper into the trees

This is exactly how I look at it too. Gas-N-Go for me. I feel any extra money you spend on them is just wasted money anymore, its easier to sell/trade a box stock sled these days.

A lot of these "performance upgrades" don't help at all. I cant tell ya how many Pro's with stage 3 SLP kits I can blow right by with a stock sled that's clutched right.

I will say the 3" track really does help if you want to spend the money that's the one thing I would do. Eric

Add an FNI intake vent and a vent or two to keep the belt drive cool would be tops for me. After that would be properly machined and balanced clutches.

Ride it for awhile and see what you think. There are lots of updates you can do but many of them are a personal preference. All the new sleds are pretty good right out of the box. Set the clutch up to get the most out of the sled and go have fun.

In my opinion, the 36" front end completely changes the way this sled handles. Yea it is a terrible trail sled with the narrow stance and no sway bar, but boy is it way easier to ride and wayyy more nimble in the technical stuff!

Stock WE shocks don't work very well with the sway bar off. So if you are expecting them to work with a 36" arm set up you will be disappointed. 36" arms require a dual rate spring set up to really work right. I run the 37" Kmod arms with a dual rate spring and it is as stable on the trail as it is in the trees. I have installed several of the 36 & 37" arm kits and the facts are easy to see. Don't get all tied up with the surface cost. Once your all done you will spend more money and time with the less expensive arms.
This is my personal opinion and it is based on installing three sets of a-arm kits in the last week. The less expensive kit we used took eight hours and requires major shock modifications on 11 and 12's. Drilling on the 13-15 or buying new bushings for the bottom. The more expensive set took 3 hours and everything was direct bolt on with no shock mods just added springs.
And yes the difference is amazing. Totally different sled with the narrow front end.

cheap mods = vents, guage lifter/vent,tunnel bag, set up susp.(free)

perfomance mods= clutching,gearing,arms,shocks,track

if your over 180 lbs then rear shocks
one of the best mods i've made
don't over look the every day enjoyment mods

perfomance mods= clutching,gearing,arms,shocks,track

don't forget a spare belt

This is how I added mods to my sled (13 800 155) and what I thought. Order you want to put them on is up to you.

TriCity Performance clutch kit = WOW. Amazing difference over stock but does generate heat.

Edit - Forgot the MBRP can. No performance gains that I can notice, but sounds bad a$$.

Vent Kit - MoFlow vents on both sides to help with heat generation. Belt was gone in 400 miles before and have 928 miles and counting after.

Thermostat bypass - Can't say I noticed major difference, but runs cooler and generally that is a good thing.

Shock revalve with piggy backs and new rear track shock = Wow. Much better handling and rideability over stock. A little spendy, but turns WE shocks into a decent shock.

ALT 36" front end = wow. Sled is so nimble that I rarely have to put both feet on the same board. Really only time is to walk your sled along crazy steep sidehill. Takes a few rides to get used to so I didn't use too much effort and just tip over. Sled is more nimble than our XM 163 T3 by a significant amount.

Kurts gear down kit = Wow. Consistently 5-7 mph track speed gain and much less heat generation.

I want to put on 3 inch track, but I am done with mods on this sled.

1) From my personal opinion and use I would put a 3" X3 track on it and with that put on 7 tooth drives. that will also help with the gear down. now it is ok with stock clutching but I would change it once you get the money.

2) Stage 2 SLP set up with clutching for the 3" track and BOOM POW rolling hot.

I did a can and a set of rooster weights and I love it brought the r's up a bit and it rips. I think the weights are the best money you can spend on one but that's just my thoughts.

1. Gear down kit of your choice
2. Olav Aaen's clutch tuning handbook
3. Bunch o' clutch trinkets or copy the trinkets that someone else who you have witnessed riding in your area. His sled needs to rip and if he will share his info do what he did to his clutching.

How do you have your adj weights setup? and what elevation do you ride? I just got a set and looking for a good starting point!

We ride in northern utah southern Idaho, whatever elevation that puts me at, I have them set at 60 heavy on the heel to nothing on the toe I think it's a washer and a bolt then just a bolt then nothing or two washers then one to just a bolt I will have to look tonight and get back to you. Sled pulls 8250-8300rpm and runs hard, everyone in our riding party has been buying them after riding mine, it was unbelievable the difference in just weights.

The best for well being is to install the Blow hole
No more heat issues what so ever in clutching and then your not cutting your panels up for vents NOT NEEDED ANY LONGER !!!!!

Your belts will last more than one season and provide top performance

Next is TKI gear down kit
2.06 is stock and way to high
Made a huge difference
Other than that .. Leave it alone

Thanks everyone for the awesome reply's. I should have stated that this is my 3rd year on my PRO. I bought it new and love love love this sled. I have NO plans of trading up anytime soon unless POO does something out of this world. Just want to enhance the performance where possible. The way I see it, for 13k, (cost of new sled) I can do a lot of good stuff over the next year or so. Thanks again!!! And keep on posting.....
