What is a cummins Rev turbo??
Saw one on thunder struck 3 and 4!!

Brad story had a Holset turbo off a 5.9 Cummins on his 03.5 rev Summit. Just a high volume turbo, was hard on engines from what I understood. Shawn Nesbo had his for sale on here a few years back.

must be long rides, most 2 stroke turbos are lasting 1000-1500 km before a top end refresh

And here is what is left of it now.

I purchased the remains in this condition a few years ago. All the suspension components had already been removed. The fire damage was mostly limited to the soft parts, and the black all over everything is plastic that had melted and stuck all over.

The engine had suffered from a severe lean burndown on the PTO side. There was a thick deposit of aluminum all the way out the exhaust and on the turbine wheel and the turbine housing.

The turbo is a Holset HX35 from a 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel. If unmodified, the wastegate would open at around 17psi. There was also a boost controller that would allow this to be increased, but not decreased. This should put horsepower in the 300+ range. The quality of fabrication of the turbo components is very impressive. The system also consisted of a electric fuel pump, a boost referenced bypass regulator, dual bov's, and 38mm round slide carbs.
