What Hand guards work on low bars

The stock ones I've broken 2 sets, even with mounting them loose so they can move down when rolling the sled over. Any aftermarket options anyone uses? The skinz ones I use on my Cat won't work with the axys bars.

ROX

Buy the Rox flextec and pro-taper mounts. I think you will be happy with those. I was also a slow learner; three pair of polaris guards later....

As of about a month ago ROX did not offer mounts that worked with the low bars. Their Pro Taper brackets only work on the high bars.

Pro taper bars on the 15 terrain dominator are mediums not low. Low ones are black

handguards

I have the skinz on my axys. Took a little trial and error but they work just as well as they do on my 09 RMK. I just wrapped the Velcro around the hooks good and tight and put a zip tie thru the bottom of the slot in the hook to hold it in place. Takes a little work to get them around bars on top but it can sure be done effectively. I really like the skinz guards. Impossible to break.

I've been using these this year and they are working well, have survived several roll overs. I have them on a mid height bar though.

Acerbis Tri-fit Handguards

I put my Rox hand guards with the Pro Taper mounts on my LOW Axys bars and they do not work. They will mount but the coverage for your hands is not adequate. Unless they came out with something recently, I wouldn't do them. The Rox guards are awesome, but they need to make mounts for the low bars. I'm back to the Polaris guards until they break or Rox has new mounts.

So I still have not found anything that works on the low bars. I bought the acerbis but cannot get them to work at all. Anyone have non polaris brand hand guards on their low pro taper bars? I can get the skinz soft ones on but it's a pain and they don't stay in place well when riding.

The new skinz airflex guards are super nice, seem indestructible. Maybe they will fit the low bars?

I have the stock ones on my low bars. Amazingly, they lasted all of last season. I didn't expect them to make it through the first ride. I rolled the sled multiple times and smacked some trees hard with them and they are still intact. I can't really explain it but they have worked well for me.

I have an off topic question. Why the low bars? Do you like them ? I couldn't find a sled at any dealerships that had them, but I think I would like them considering that I am vertically challenged.lol

After the terrible movement of the chopper high riser bars that everyone did years ago...we learned that the lower the bars, the more control you have of the sled on an angle. Burandt uses low bars and is around 6'1. You lose leverage the further away from the sled you get.

That's what I was thinking as well. Maybe I will have to break down and buy low bars and see if there is a noticeable difference.

These skinz ones are just velcroed on and have a snap that just goes into ur bars so u can use them for the ride in and take them off at ur play spot

I have the velcro skinz ones, I use them on my Cat. They kinda work on my axys, but not very well and don't stay in place throughout the day.

Skinz Velcro

I have the Skinz velcro on my 11 SBA, I took the allen screw out of the end of the hook and bought a longer bolt and a spacer bushing along with a couple of washers, they now stay on place very well. I put the bolt through the hole in the end of the hand guard.

I bought my Axys with the low bars. I ended up putting a 1" riser under them. I am 6'2". Buying the low bars makes it much cheaper if you want to change the height. Risers cost way less than new bars. The leverage issue discussed is noticeable. I am much more in control with my bars lower.
