"PROPANE"

I swear everytime I do one of these polls, I forget something. Sorry propane guys.

pump gas all the way! except for a couple days a year when i feel like turning it up. but ran 10-12lbs all year last year at 6-8k feet on pump gas. the year before i ran 14lbs on straight race gas and i will be the first to admit that i wasted a lot of money for nothing

M8:2871:Twisted RG

9-11K, 91oct with one gallon of 112, 8lbs no problem....some are at 10lbs and doing fine

7-11K, straight 112, 13-16 no problem....anything about 16 hits the knock sensor

Race Gas is alredy a big enough pain to store/buy....propane can only be a bigger PITA....i usually mix fuel/oil for a projected two weeks, could be 20 gallons, could be a barrel, whatever it is, its staged in the trailer and ready to go:light:

3 gal race and the rest pump gas non-ethanol 91 octane. 9-11 psi boost. Runs WAY better than straight race gas at 14 psi. Just like Kinzer...i wasted ALOT of money until i figured this out! Argh!! Probably could run straight PG 91 octane, but just throw the 3 gal RG in there for "insurance"....since i had quite a bit left over from the barrels i bought before. Finally used it up so now will try the straight non-ethanol premium.

someone running a 2010 m8 around 12psi let me know what you are running for fuel at 6-9k ft. Was thinking of running straight 110.

Not when you have to drive a while to get it, I can get propane 2 blocks from my house... I also am getting a larger tank to bring with me so I can just fill it periodically then fill my sled whenever... 1 full tank in the sled and 2-3 more in the truck. Also, I can get propane almost anywhere near me at gas stations, and there open 7 days a week.. and sell propane during all normal hours of the day. Im not saying its nearly as nice as 91.. but it inst to bad if your used to it/plan for it. and the price... If the race gas your getting is $7.50 a gallon(which seems about right for drums right now) I will save $255 per drum of fuel equiv... For those kinda savings I will deal with the possible inconvininces.

sorry for the hijack.. just like to talk.. its summer.

Not a hijack....that's good information for the people.

My MCX Nytro is pump premium 17lbs.....will creep up some days:face-icon-small-sho........10,000k on it.

Front mount Apex.......17lbs......50/50 C12, pump premium. That motor also has almost 10,000 k on it.

Good poll...thanks

Pump gas

Pump gas up to 23 psi boost with windsheild washer fluid.
Two years most times it runs at 15 psi on nytro

Alpine front mount Nytro - 12lbs premium for most of the year.....16lbs straight C12 a couple days with zero problems. Change from 1500ft - 8000+ft throughout the year.

MCX Nytro 15lbs boost most days, sometimes crank it up.

i run 50/50 blend of pump premium either Shell 92 or Chevron 94 and 100/110LL av gas. Usually heavy on the av gas, just to be safe. I would run straigh av, but the pump gas has better lubricating properties and lower flash point gives a little better burn. Seems to run seemless on that mixture. Got a little burbly at the end of last year, but I predict O2 sensor packing it in, or I had some moisture in the fuel.
