What exhaust are you putting on your nytro? Or what exhaust can you put on?
Post some pictures of your sleds

I put on an MBRP it gave the sled a hesitation about half throttle when pinning it, so I wouldn't reccomend that one. If I bought another one I would get the full Excell system.

i had a Yoshimura muffler installed under the seat & into the tunnel(CR tunnel)
can't seem to post pics here, but head over to snowandmud.com & look into the Yamaha forums & look for me in there (my username is RaspberryNytro.......LOL) I have a few pics on there of my sled & exhaust. i think the thread there is an exhaust topic as well

I put a Yoshimura Titanium RS5 exhaust on mine. It's a slip on system originally designed for an 07 Honda CBR 600 RR sportbike, just needs a few mods to the supplied midpipe and away you go ! I'll be testing it out this weekend, so far all I can say is it's MUCH louder than stock when you open it up, not too bad at idle and low rpms.

Check it out... http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=53893

Sounds sweet, lightweight & draws looks. What more can you ask? Well.....:D

I had a D&D Carbon race pipe on for 20 minutes. Made good power and at least 15lbs less weight but couldn't take the ear bleeding noise.

Muzzy exhaust

Heres a zx6 slip on I installed.. Itr sounds good not to loud and didnt notice any lean conditions etc...

i cant believe a speed shop hasnt made an under tunnel exhaust and seat combo to sell yet. amazes me. ski

Zsnowshredder,
I sure can. However, it just slips onto the header and I made a small bracket you can see in the pic to support the rear. BTW, the seat brackets have been redone since that pic and are sweet.

switchback; I did the same exhaust as you the only thing I did different was make 2'' offset to let the exhaust set in the center, thanks for the help. Plumber..

Well guys, here it is...Had mine out for a good test run yesterday. I put 145 kms on testing out the Yosh pipe, and let's just say it's staying on for good ! This is my 100% honest report, if it didn't feel like an improvement or at least the same as stock, it was coming off. At first, I wasn't convinced that it was compatible with the sled. There were a few times when the exhaust sounded sputtery at certain rpms and felt as if the sled was now too lean on hard acceleration, but after an hour or so, it seemed to have just disappeared, and the power was much smoother and the engine spun up much quicker. The only performance improvement mod until now was the 1.5" Intense Powder track for better traction in powder, but it works incredible on groomed trails too, HUGE improvement over the stock Ripsaw. Before the muffler swap, I was seeing 8800-8980 rpms at take off on a solid base, with 8600-8700 on a long stretch, and now I'm seeing 9200-9250 on take off, with a consistent 8700-8950 throughout on a good stretch ! Honestly, the sled feels to be pulling stronger ! My top end speed has improved as well. Before I would top off at mid 140's (kms) and today I saw mid 150's, more than likely could have squeezed even more out as it was still gaining speed, but I had to let off due to high traffic on the trails. (there was a poker run/rally with hundreds of riders scattered all over) Overall, I'm very impressed with not only the sound of this exhaust, but the performance improvement is quite obvious too. I never thought I would have noticed anything at all, but in all honesty, I felt quite a bit of an increase in power throughout the powerband. I had spoken with our nearest dyno facility, and apparently these sleds are rich in the mid and top from the factory, and their dyno tests concluded that a more free flowing sportbike exhaust system leaned it out in these areas, resulting in more peak power at higher rpms and more power throughout. I'm convinced that this Yosh muffler did exactly that after my ride today, and I'm more than satisfied considering it was just an experiment, one that ended up paying off very well !

I'll take a few tomorrow. All in all, pretty simple. Most difficult part was getting the mid pipe fabricated so the muffler was pointing straight out the back. I used the stock header/muffler clamp to secure the header to the mid pipe, then I bent the tabs back on the muffler bracket and drilled a hole on each side of the heat shield to secure the muffler. It's on as solid as the day I installed it, and I hit a few good sized drifts and bumps with the sled yesterday just to be sure it was staying put. Overall, very impressed with this mod considering it was just a shot in the dark. Apparently, a few other FX Nytro owners saw and heard the Yosh exhaust yesterday while I was riding and they are ordering one for themselves tomorrow...lol !!!
