Just curious as i imagine there is some decent variety coming from the mx bikes to some of the larger enduro style bikes..

only really care about wet ready to ride weight, everything else is just a waste of time.

Just got the '03 yz with the homebrew snowbike conversion 151"er 290# maybe 1/2 gallon out of the IMS 3.1 gallon tank. and im rocking all steel 1" shafts and rather large gears so some weight to loose!

my bike weighs about 100 lbs more than it should.

Started with a bike that weighs 70lbs too much....still not the worst
Kit I build was made for no issues on triples, going lighter on next kit, if I had reliable scale I'll tell you. got mh kit 121 new on 011 yz450 going together also, maybe we can find good scale to weigh them both, my old sled building scale went bye bye after loaning it out.
 
Looks like I have some weight to cut as well. Both bikes are at about 3/4 fuel but the ktm has 3 gallon tank. My weight reduction tactics worked between the yamaha and ktm as the ktm is about 20 pounds heavier in stock form. And has a 15" track. Both are logtracks yamaha is 133, ktm is 136 Gotta get weight of these skids as they are way heavier than they need to be, but that should be doable.

Mtn. Horse Snow Bike Weights

Just to give you guys an idea of what a Mountain Horse weighs. These weights are with a full tank of gas with no extra accessories.

<O:p</O:pFYI, to also give you an idea of how much weight is on the ski verses on the track the CR-R 450 at the top here weighed 122lbs on the ski and 177 lbs on the track.<O:p</O:p
 
awesome. thats a super helpful list! nice to know how the homebrews stack up against the production stuff!

i will check my weight bias tonight, i know my buddies cr had the suspension messed up and it handle AWEFUL and just plowed around because way to much weight on the ski.
 
Got me ???? So I went out and weighed my husaberg FS with the 2012 kit on it and it weghed 314 with the rear 70 degree subtank on the bike, barkbusters ,aluminum powder coated skid plate ,FMF FULL EXHAST,and 3.5 gal spare tank empty,full lighting and the bike probably had 1.5 gal in it, my FX is suposedly 10 pounds lighter and the new 2013 kit will go on it this weekend so we will weigh it on sunday. Weghed it with a hanging scale then my comp digital scales under the ski and track 129 on the ski and 185 onthe track,, was surprised at the 129!!!Wow so a 13 pro rmk with 155 and 2 skis and 145 hp is 102 heavier???I need some lightweight parts for my BIKE! Lets start with a belt ,,drive carbon fiber body work,and clutch covers,need lighter forks!!!what does a CR500 weigh, mabe I should have started with my 300-2stk

We used bathroom scales with one guy holding the bike and the other holding the track end and then subtracted our body weight , very accurate and easy. :nono:JK actually used same scale as Timbersled to get my bike weight. Is it worth porting the track to save a little weight ?
 
area 51 with kx500 transplant

138 ski and 158 track
should have timbersled kx450 together by weekend to compare size.
 
This particular variant should weigh in around 160lbs... just haven't figured out how to put the power to the snow yet. :D

What kind of track weights r u getting? Then with a rider how much does each go up?
I was moving my engine and body forward more to get more weight up front.
 
I am building my own kit, I have the track on with the wheel up front and putting the bathroom scale under the front tire I was at 170ish on my 03wr450
 
My Cr500 with a new long track, tunnel bag, tunnel gas can, skid plate, gauntlets, hand guards, handle bar bag, FMF gnarly exhaust, 3.3 gal. IMS tank with about a gallon of gas is 308 lbs. on questionable bathroom scales.
 
Ok ,,seems like were all within 20pounds not sure weight is the real answer as much as more power!!
 
what does a snow hawk Weigh??????? mabe we need an all titanium MH kit
