What does 1-trillion Dollars, in $100's look like?

Sorry, I didn't know how to cut/paste it to post here.

Here's another comparison.

How much is a Million?
How much is a Billion?
How much is a Trillion?
What's the difference between a million, a billion, a trillion?
A million seconds is 12 days.
A billion seconds is 31 years.
A trillion seconds is 31,688 years.

A million minutes ago was – 1 year, 329 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes ago.
A billion minutes ago was just after the time of Christ.

A million hours ago was in 1885.
A billion hours ago man had not yet walked on earth.

A million dollars ago was five (5) seconds ago at the U.S. Treasury.
A billion dollars ago was late yesterday afternoon at the U.S. Treasury.

A trillion dollars is so large a number that only politicians
can use the term in conversation... probably because they
seldom think about what they are really saying. I've read that
mathematicians do not even use the term trillion!
Here is some perspective on TRILLION:

Trillion = 1,000,000,000,000.
The country has not existed for a trillion seconds.
Western civilization has not been around a trillion seconds.
One trillion seconds ago – 31,688 years – Neanderthals stalked the plains of Europe.

Million: 1,000,000
Billion: 1,000,000,000
Trillion: 1,000,000,000,000
Quintillion: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
Sextillion: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
Nonillion: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
Centillion: 1 followed by 303 zeros

And that's what scientific/engineering notation is best used for.

1.0E12 = 1,000,000,000,000.
I know which one i'd rather type :)

I just posted this the other day in this thread, so it's easy to cut and paste it here. :D

How much is a trillion dollars? It is a number most of us have heard alot of lately, but never conceptualized. Here's a little visual help to get an idea:

$100

We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slightly fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

$10,000

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

$1 Million

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

$100 Million

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet...

100million.jpg

$1 Billion

And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere...

billion.jpg

$1 Trillion

Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing about so much. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this? It's pretty surprising. Go ahead... Scroll down...

Ladies and gentlemen... I give you $1 trillion dollars...

And notice those pallets are double stacked. So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about. By the way, the use of trillions has seldom been used to describe wealth, but consider how often we've been hearing about that much debt!?!?

and who says that money doesnt buy happiness....you start stackin pallets of money like that in front of me and i'm pretty sure i wouldnt be mad about it

A billion here, another billion there, pretty soon it adds up to some real money.

(Sen. Everett Dirkson, IL, circa 1960's)

Abom' thanks for the cut job. Didn't see that other post. Appears we Google alike. LOL.
