What do you expect your dealer to do for you when setting up your new sled?

What are some of the things you expect the dealer to do for you when setting up your new pro? Are there any not usually done things on setup to make sure they check?

Depending on where you live/ride the clutching may also need to be changed. Up here in Alaska our dealers change out the springs and weights for our lower elevation on top of the usual set-up.

clean clutches, set track tension, ski toe out, make sure clutches are lined up, and belt deflection is ok

good thread btw, hopefully polaris and their dealers will catch wind of what the customers want

A good dealer should help you get clutching and suspension setup. They should inform you of any known issues with a peticular model regardless of recall. They should familiarize you with the machine and instruct you on proper break in.

.

The one thing i always double check when i get it home reguardless is the right setting on the oil injection, whether they say they did or not. Might just be me but thats the one thing you want to know is properly set up.

Mine fills oil and gas (premixed and stabilized). I don't think they do much else though... Maybe because they know I'm gonna go home and double check anything their techs do anyways.

RMK's
6000-8000 feet
comes with 10-62 weights for the 800 or 10-58's for the 600

Yep, and 60's for over 8,000'.

I'm seeing less dealers filling tanks and giving away covers. It used to be the norm. But now they make so little on the sled and the accessories are so expensive that my expectations are a little more lax. As long as they get my sled warranty work done on a whim, I'm happy. Only one warranty item on mine so far.

Zero

I always check all my connectors, bolts and such on a new sled. This year is no different and I was surprised at how many bolts were loose, dry connectors and such. It's good to go now but it was time consuming going over everything.

I am not sure what they do, but I know my 13 pro's track was not aligned from the dealer and I did not check it. It tore up the edge of the track at bit during the first ride before I noticed and aligned it. The handle bars were not lined up with the ski's properly and the tow was a little off.
Hopefully this is not the norm though.

do they ever install accessories for free? like running boards or vents?

If your accessories are part of your snowcheck money they install for free, if its off showroom floor for an in season, then expect to pay shop rate. Just picked up my Matte White and can I say SEXY! She looks mean and ready to go!
