You should read the thread on the axys page about honeing that Indy Dan has written, I am an old time mechanic as well as an engineer by trade but have been in snowmobiles and 2 cycles for over 50 years riding, building and racing and find Indy Dan's information has a lot of worth!!

you mean his new high tech honing that he claims lasts 10K miles with a set of pistons ?
hone size
I just ordered a Aluminum Oxide in 3.5 inches for the 800 engine in 240 grit . They recommend slightly larger than bore which is 85mm and the next size hone is 89mm (3.5 in) . Polaris recommends a 325 grit I believe but the hone company says 240 . I guess we will see when they get here .
