Hi!
I got a tip the other day to replace the OEM polaris belt to a ultimax xs belt..
Anyone got some experience, is it as good as the oem and the same lifetime, harder/weaker pulling?

I also heard that ultimax pulled had a better grip on the clutches and made it pull harder..
Do the AC belt fit?? What kind is simular to a pro rmk 800? M8, F7 or something?

its the 048 belt off a bear cat. Ive run 115's and xs809's and neither is that much better then the other. they both blow up and send pieces everyone. the 809's have a 1 year warranty and can be picked up at a cheaper price. The biggest thing is make sure the Belt Sheeve side cleareance is set properly for what ever belt you are going to run.

Been thinking of trying both xs809 belt and the cat 048, but I still run my first belt and I got a spare when I bought the sled so... About 500 miles so not a high miler but anyway.

When I found a good clutch setup on my price triple with 220hp the xs belt held up great, even in spring snow.

Either belt spend the time and get the side clearance set to specs it makes a huge different. all of the belts are slightly differnt widths.

I have ran the 115, ulitimax xs809, and the cat 048 this season on my 12 assault. So far the best performing belt has been the xs809. At first I liked the cat belt, but after have it grenade after 450 miles hard miles and slapping on a fresh xs 809, the 809 made my sled feel like it gained back the snap that I remembered my sled having when I first got it (115 belt). I know when you throw a new belt they always feel snappier, but after 500 miles on this belt, my sled still feels the same. The 048 will work, but IMO I think it was slipping quite a bit on full shift. I think the angle of the sheave vs the belt might be different causing some slip.
With the best price I found on the 048 being $72 shipped and the best price I could find online for a 809 being $89 with a one year, no question asked warranty and being a great performing belt, I think the 809 to be the best belt for my sled. I say it performs just as good, if not better as a 115 and nearly half the cost.

You might want to try the Polaris 1122 belt, great belt but much less money than the 115. I've tried pretty much every other belt made for Polaris, I haven't found that any of them have performed as well as Polaris oem.

I have been using Gates Extreme, getting one season out of them, and generally they start pulling a thread long before they explode. Even though the back is not notched, they seem to run fine, even running in spring riding conditions which is where I put on a lot of the wear, riding spring snow in the bowls. Seem to perform just fine, I have switched between it and the 115 in the middle of a ride and noticed no difference in performance at all.

Plus they are less than half the price of the factory belt. Buy 2 and switch them out when there is any question on wear...

I think I paid $48 for my last one, and so I could buy 3 for the price of a 115. I have a 115 that came with the sled that is in the spare belt location... just in case.
