We got to ride a sx this year and it was awesome too ride ,so we are taking the plunge and building a 16 horse to have in the fleet. Was wanting input as to what bike is the best in the winter months ,yam ,kawi ,honda as far as starting etc. Any input would be helpful Thanks

the battery/e-start factor is hard to deny on the KTM's. that and the new yamaha have both just about 60hp depending on source stock.

ktm's are the most pricey stock bike but if your planning on adding accesories like heated grips, lights, etc, the battery system sure does make it easier. Im a yamaha guy at the core and the new YZ flat rips in the snow. I just keep hoping they release a yz450fx next year.

New??? KTM Factory Edition 450 or YZ450F. Pick the lightest/most reliable/easy to find parts = Yamaha and KTM IMO.

Used? YZ450F or KX500 - cheap and reliable

if that factory edition wasn't so hard to find parts for and 2k more then a yz i would be on one of those like white on rice but your gonna pay sticker or even higher as they are so rare. 10k+ for a bike, thats hard to stomach even for those of us who don't mind blowing a lot of cash on toys.

I would wait until the 2016 KTMs are released in June if you can. Word on the street is the current ktm 450 factory edition will be the 2016 450 sxf.

I am also going to get into the snow bikes. Could use some advice. I ride a 2014 ktm 450 xcw in the dirt, but don't want to mess up my dirt bike by swapping it back and forth. What ktm should I get for a timbersled ST. Going to buy new...2 stroke or 4 stroke? What bike would you buy if you could get any new bike? Other things to think about? Also have 2 pro rmks for sledding, so am looking forward to another cool winter addiction! Thanks.

That's why I ride a YZ450 :face-icon-small-hap

Hooper, use your KTM and see how you like it

Personally I don't ride anything without e-start. If the ktm 450 FE motor shows up in the 2016 KTM sxf and/or xcf 450 that will be my next bike. If you are a KTM guy and a 4-stroke guy the 450 sxf/xcf or 500 xcw are my favorites. For the 2-stroke crowd can't beat a well set up 300
