Looking for a winch for my fourwheeler. Wondering if any of u are using the off brand winches such as venom, gorilla or any of those and if they are any good. I know they are about half the price of the warns. Any input is apprecitated
thanks in advance

I have one of the venom ones. I think it was like $80 on ebay. It hasn't given me any problems in 3 years. I use it probably 15-20 times a year only though.
You can tell the quality isn't as good as a warn but you could replace the venom 4-5 times for the price of a warn. You have to ask yourself how much your going to use it and can you easily replace it yourself if it breaks or will you have to take it in?

I had one of them gorilla, made it about as long as i thought it would for a 80 dollar winch. Now have the warn 4000Lbs Utv winch bolted under my Brute 750. Not to worried about burning that out like i did the other

ok,picture this.you'r out wheeling with bud's or allalone, then it happens, that hole that did'nt look deep all of a sudden swallows ur wheeler hole.do u want to trust a no name not sealed off brand thing that the switch burns up half way thru pulling u out.trust me when i say NOTHING PULL'S LIKE A WARN! i have run many brands and alway's go back to warn.my wheeler has a 200# on the rear bumper,2500# on the front.the trail/mud rig has a 9000# on the front, just replaced the motor on it(something about pulling a semi and loader trailer out of the mud twice, and many heavy long pulls) my wreacker has a 9000#on the front and a 1500# on the back.the superduty will have the new 16.5 on the front bumper when i am doing fabricating it.most off brands use a weak wound motor and they can not prouduce the power to pull long with out burning the winding's or cracking the magnet's locking up the armatchure stopping the winch dead.i belive this is not the place u want to skimp on.just my.02 cent's
