09 M8 my snow flap fell/broke off last weekend(real crappy design). i don't want to buy another crappy plastic snow flap from Cat but I also don't want to ride without a flap. I was thinking a Gen II flap or S-2000 flap. What are you guys doing? How about a 2011 Pro RMK flap?

for the 40 bucks for the new flap atleast you dont have to worry about moving your tail light. i agree it is a crappy design.

I went and bought a 6ft black crazy carpet! Cut 4 flaps out of it ! Total cast was $3 Works great andeast to move and bend when stuck. Best mod on my sled!!!

If your riding in pow your fine. On the hard pack in warmer conditions I would run one. I ran mine without a flap last weekend because mine broke off. It tended to get hot nothing too bad but I wish I had somthing back there. Buddys wernt very happy with the roost the powder claw was throwing. I just picked up some rubber at the local hardware store for the time being.

Thanks for the tips, but my sled is an 09 the tunnel is shorter than the track, the flap has to be stiff enough to stick out on its own it cant hang down! The 08 and older tunnel is longer than the track and the flap can hang straight down, so belting and rubber wont work for me. I really like the look of the 2011 PRO-RMK flap.

hey

I would run without one, but the 90 duro track on the hcr throws hands grenades. I just cut mine so it dosen't get caught in the track, and no over heating issues.

took mine of my 10 the first day, as stated it is a throwin sob, lets just say i never led down the trail, its like a damn jet ski on snow. love it, and looks way better without the superman cape behind you, and its a pain when you get stuck

mud flaps are for trucks not sleds. with a powerclaw the roost is rediculous even with a flap. if its icy enough your worried about overheating you should run scratchers and they spray way more snow on the cooler than a flap will ever deflect at it.

I run mine with no flap, and never had any issues except that I have to ride in the back of the pack because the Attack 20 in climb throws a roost with golfball size ice balls in it higher and further than a jet ski does!!! :face-icon-small-win

I tried no flap but snow ends up sticking to the bumper at times, makes it a pain to grab the bumper. You can buy a solid black plastic mudflap for 18 wheelers that is super light and strong, just cut to size and install.

We can take care of ya! We are a heavy duty truck warehouse and had the opportunity to have our own blend of plastic for the cold made and have a full line of snow flaps. They are guaranteed not to crack under any cold condition.

Our website is www.greatlakesmudflaps.com just click on the "Snow Flaps" link and check em out.

P.S.- Our site is under construction so please excuse the mess.

We had my wife's HCR cut to the last line & it just cracked yesterday, oh well.

Not terribly impressed, but not heartbroke either! Saved another pound!!!!
