What all is needed for turbo yamaha's?

I have a Nitro on hold and I am close to pulling the trigger on a MTX turbo to go with it, but what all is needed? I was told the stock drivers wont last more than a ride or two with the increase in power. Is this true? Should I be setting aside more money for beefing up the connecting rods as well? What other expenses am I looking at?

Sorry, MCX. MTX is the Nitro. I must have got confusedhttp://www.snowest.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Probably extros but nothing motor wise until you decide to run high boost numbers. That is it just ride.

Clutching and an adjustable helix are usually included in the MCX kit. As is the boost gauge and blow off valve. FYI

I have been running the stock drivers on boost for the last 2 years.....ran the track a little loose the first few hundred miles chewed the drivers up a bit.....run the track tight and they are holding up not to bad running 15p-17 psi boost......but if you can I would change them to avids right off the start

Thanks for the input, They wont have any turbo's available for another week so that gets me some time to look into getting some drivers!

There are lots of turbo's running the stock drivers. Just keep an eye on the drivers and check your track tension. It's a totally separate job so you can change drivers anytime. You will need to do clutching and I would run a boost gauge for sure so you know where you're at. Other than that, gas and go. :D

i'm thinking of a nytro turbo and was just wondering what kind of fuel do you guys run. race gas or can you get away with regular

Premium up to 12 lbs of boost with headshim

Stock drivers are probably OK until you start runnin big numbers
