What aftermarket ski is this?

That ski was probably created in 2012 when the new ski didn't exist. You won't want it.... promise. The only ski that is even a contender at the moment is the Yeti ski and that's mostly based on hearsay. Some people have ridden it an it does show promise.

Curious as to why you wold say it is the ONLY contender with other choices out there... in context with saying it's "hearsay"

Sincere question.

I need a cheap ski that would be easy for me to cut up for this other project I'm doing. I figured it was an older ski and maybe there would be some laying around. I just needed to know what to search for in google.

I "hear" this might "contend" lol

I was just referring to the single ski market. That new system will get a good review this year and we will see what is what.

That would make it a snowmobile

that's perfect, I want my bike to be seen as just another snowmobile, nothing to see here leave me alone! If it handles better and is seen by some bikers as a 2 ski snowmobile I could really care less! 1ski snowmachine 2ski snowmachine........ 1 ski snowmacine with 2 skis its the next big thing have a sip of that kool aid and hop on!

I build a ski similar to this ( wide plate) one on top of a old narrow Yamaha ski with a Metal saddle It handled pretty good. don't forget all the mods that were needed to make the timber sled ski work well. If I incorporate them all in a homebuilt ski I bet you any money that it would work well enough. If I would upgrade it would be cmx all the way -- but even there there will be updates and upgrades.

Man that ski has been around! worked well except it needed bigger skags on the side to grab in firm snow.

This is my answer... 16"X60" long. 2" zinc coated angle for side skags. old timbersled 6" ski on the bottom. If its too big I'll just keep cutting until I get it right.

You will hate life w that dual keel ski under that plate. My ski isn't perfect but darn good on most machines. Here is a great hawk ski setup built years ago
