Whaddya think of the new GnR Album???

havent heard any of the songs yet, but its gonna be real weird seing as its only AXL and new guys now.
im a huge GNR fan, so i gues i should probably pic it up.

First, it isn't a Guns N Roses album ... Even though it says it is, it isn't. It's an Axl Rose solo project.
Second ... it's one hell of a great solo project. It's good music, and I think Axl really did a good job on it and it's nice to see him singing again...but it is NOT a Guns N Roses album.
It would have been a Guns album had all the original guys been there, but they weren't.
Even with that said, it's a good album and I like the songs I've heard so far.

I am going to buy it, I watched the concert with just Axl and no Slash but Slash and Duff is not GNR! AXL IS! Lots of people can play guitar, bass and drums but only Axl can carry a note like Axl!
Slash is a great guitar player and axl is wacked out of his mind but axle is still the voice behind GNR and owns the rights to GNR thus he is GNR!

i would have to say i think slash's guitar combo'd with Axls voice are GNR, heard a few songs in the last few hours, and the guitar is so much more just kinda genaric rock guitar, not the bluesy guitar of slash... thats the combo that made it work, mind you, Axl still has a crazy voice that is 100% different.
lots of people can play as good as slash, but his has much more soul into it, has a very distinct tone.

Only heard the single from the album and I thought it sounded like most of todays generic rock and basically sucked so I don't wanna waste 15 on the album.
This is crazy.. I was just listening to GnR's today thinking about all the good times back then.. Man those were the days for me.

i thought it was a guns album not guns and roses. i don't think axle should be using the guns and roses name, more members of the group were in velvet revolver and they weren't using the name... g and r to me will always be the original group, welcome to the jungle!!!
It's about gay as aidsAxl needed to retire over a decade ago and needs to quit doing music.

Couldnt agree more. Musicians are a dime a dozen. Dont get me wrong.....slash is an amazing guitar player. Ive seen him live many times. BUT, there are ALOT of amazing guitar players out there. I dont think the little edge that he has over other guitarists makes any huge difference in the overall sound of the band. Im definitely not a big fan of Duff and Matt. Went to a couple of VR shows and they were so out of time you couldnt tell what song it was until Scott started singing.
Lead singers define bands. Its like Alice in Chains getting back together without Layne. Its not AIC without Layne Staley. As good as Jerry Cantrell is, it will never be even close to the same without Layne. Im all for him continueing to make music, but he shouldnt have carried on under AIC. Same goes for GnR. If it had been the other way around, I would agree completely that the name should be scrapped. But IMHO Axl is GnR.
Axle Rose, Izzy Stradlin, and Tracy Gunns formed the band.

Tracy left the Band in 85. Should they of stop calling them self's GnR then?
They were GNR before Slash, Duff, or Steven ever joined the band.
Axle own the right to Guns and Roses.
Even further back i believe Mr Rose teamed up with Tracy in the band LA Guns and the name was then changed to Guns and Roses
The new CD rocks and Mr Rose did a great job. To bad he is such an egotistical maniac and burned all the bridges. We could have had many many more great albums from him over the years.

True . Tracy formed LA Guns, Axl came in and did a short stint as lead vocals a couple years after LA gun got together and then Axl left to form Hollywood Rose.
Hollywood Rose and La Guns then merged and became GNR for about 3 months and then came SLASH, Duff and Steven.
and the rest is history!
