Wetaskiwin Snow Drags!! March 8-9

I was out at these drags today and the action was pretty good. The track held up considerably well as it was warm. The entries looked down from last year. Did not stay until the end, so we missed the finals. They need to get a little more organized, so they don't run late into the day. I'm sure the racers would like that too, but it is a total team effort.

This was the first year running the races with a whole new committee. There were a few minor glitches but for the most part all went well. They races were a success.
Saturday we had a problem with the lights. After getting them repaired they worked smoothly the rest of the weekend.
Sunday there was an issue with people missing their races. The racers weren't organized & paying attention to what was going on. I know one particular girl missed one race and would have missed two others if she hadn't been notified by others.
We had a few people attempting to cheat that had to be DQed. i.e.: running NOS in 700 Mountain, motor mods in stock classes. Next year Tech won't be so lenient. Motors and fuel will be checked.
The track held up really well. We spent a few hours on the track and pits Saturday night and all was well for Sunday.
The races were all wrapped up by 4:00 pm on Sunday with most people happy.

The same group/committee plans on running the races for next year.
We will gladly take any suggestions to making this the biggest & best race in the west.
What needs to be done to get more racers?
What needs to be done to get more spectators?
What needs to be improved on?
