I was hoping my nytro the black and blue one at the top of this post, would come in under 600lbs but what can you do, only thing left is a battery and a seat but is it really worth it, she looks good anyway, still just a little full figured. let it snow...........

i would like to see other people post there weights, wet weights just to see how much bs there is out there. I want to see how many more lbs I can take off that I havent thought of.

umm i know exactly what they weigh whats your point:confused:.if you are building one you should have a idea.:rolleyes:if you are trying to say that they are heavier than a 2stroke turbo:eek:iam shocked:Dha ha i will take the extra weight for what you get but thats just me.:):beer;

If you still have the stock battery put in a YTZ7S and that'll get you below 600, barely but it'll do it.

I think what he's trying to say is that if you add up all of the supposed weight savings, it doesn't add up on the scales. Just for kicks, what does your beautifull Vector weigh full of fluids? It has even more done to it than this Nytro, I'm just curious if you saw all the weight loss you were suppose to?

Stuff you need to watch for on weight loss are things like the drop brackets. Typically the tunnel maker will claim the weight loss from those as part of the new tunnel but Timbersled also includes that 8-9 lbs in the skid weight reduction as well so maybe a few items are doubled up.

its around 585lbs on bathroom scales so give or take, allot of light stuff never takes off what they claim but some does,allot of the stuff i did was close to claimed but got all my stuff from quality guys.oh yah front mount turbo is around 8-10lbs lighter if you run a stait pipe.:beer;

does that battery have the power to turn over our sled well enough and for long enough during a long weekend out of town or do you charge it every night. just comparing cold crank amps between to two, thought about going with a mountain performance battery but ouch they are expensive. The apex in this thread is looking for a battery also will it work?

thats not bad if you have 300HP!! thats 2-1 ratio.. Nice lookin sled

Its 300 at 15 pounds of boost, But for the most part I run 13- 14. my main concern is the fabcraft rear skid. had it in a 1m chassis and loved it. but with more power i'm hoping it will keep the front end down. Anyone out there running this skid in an apex and how does it handle?

Note: Looks like that Nytro is using a stock tank, which is 7 gallons.
Stock Apex is rated at 10 gallons.

3 gallons * 6.5 lbs per gallon = 19.5 additional lbs in fuel alone

Add 19.5 lbs to 609 =
628.5 lbs for a Nytro @ 10g
627 lbs for a Apex (with the BB front end)

Wow... I didn't know the Apex was able to get that close in weight? Huh..

Theres a more comparative Nytro vs Apex weight (wet).

I'll be happy if my Impulse Nytro (~10 gallon tank) comes in around 625.. But think it'll turn out heavier.

Few weeks and I should be able to get a wet weight from a hanging scale from my sled.

I'm going to give the 7S a shot..

YTZ7S $80 to save ~9-10 lbs 130 CCA

And some number playing...just for fun.

Nytro turbo (12 #s) [10k ft elevation]
204 HP (calculated)
~625 lbs (10 gal)

204 / 625 = .326 HP per lb
625 / 204 = 3.064 lbs per HP

My Rev 840 (N/A) [10k ft elevation]
Claimed ~165 HP at 0 ft
using 3% per 1000 ft HP loss
115.5 HP
560 lbs (10 gal) [this is a real weight from a hanging scale, done personally]

115.5 / 560 = .206 HP per lb
560 / 115.5 = 4.85 lbs per HP

Rev would have to weigh 353.892 lbs to match the Nytros lbs per HP.
Or 182.56 HP (@ 10k feet) to match the Nytros HP per lb.

There was still room for some wt loss on my Rev, a-arms, shocks, rear skid..
If there were such thing as a reliable 2s turbo, it sure would be a blast! NO doubt.

LOL I like playing with numbers too much sometimes... hah

The battery has lots of juice for our sleds. Everyone I know runs one with no issues. The MPI battery is a POS do a search on this forum and you'll find all the info you need on the YTZ7S. Its the way to go.
