Westwood Grass Drags

The 3rd annaul snowmobile Grass Drags at the Paul Bunyan Mtn. & Blues Festival will be held this year on July 2nd & 3rd. The Westwood Area Chamber of Commerce has put on this event the past two years with great success. This year the Westwood Chamber of Commerce will be honoring Chadd Burroughs for all his hard work put into this event. This years’ event is especially meaningful because as you all know we lost Chadd in February. This year the Commerce is dedicating the race to Chadd and the Commerce will be presenting our family and close friends with a plaque honoring Chadd. I wish and hope that all of you can attend and bring your sleds for a little fun on the drag strip. Chadd loved this event and looked forward to it for the past couple of 4th of July weekends. Chadd was inspirational in setting up the event, lining up riders, running the light system, and as always… keeping all of us in check on race day!

See you up there. Contact the Westwood Chamber of Commerce (530-256-2456) for lodging details. The race director this year will be Sean Gunn. Sean can also be reached for questions about the race, setup, or classes.

DRAAAAGS

Thanks for getting this up AO... already seems like this event is picking up interest.

Even if you can't bring a sled it will be a good showing and lots of fun. It could even be a possible tune up for those of you planning to attend the exhibition event in at the Butte County Fair in Gridley.

See you all up there.

gridley county fair (butte county) just some good ol dirt drags in their arena. Already approved from the fair board, end of august!

Will post more specifics in its own thread.

AO/jesse, was it the chamber of commerce that was giving chadd a hard time when he tried to put the snow drags together the beginning of this year or someone else???

No. He was dealing with the Chester Chamber on that one. The original reason why the snow drags didn't go off (i think) was due to a permit issue with the FAA b/c the drags where going to be at the airport. Nothing was ever submitted to them for approval of the use of their airstrip. At least this was the reason a couple years ago. Not sure what happened last year.

I would have earlier... i just recieved the letter in the mail in the beginning of this month. It sounds like the races will be an annual event now. The first year 24 racers showed, last year 36 racers, and i've heard this year people are making their way up from Southern California. Should be fun...

Grass drags.

Dick, Congrats on winning. Was good seeing you again. Hope you and family had a good vacation at the lake. Later. Dave.:face-icon-small-hap
