thats awesome!! I said that one out loud too hahahaha...
Apparently from a shell rep there top octane 91 does not have any ethanol in it at all....

I called the chevron refinery, there 94 octane contains 0 ethanol,
Also says say right on the pump "no ethanol" the non ethanol even gets it's own pump.
94 chev for me this year!

Here is a copy of the E Mail reply I got back from Shell Customer Service:

Thank you for writing to Shell.

In Canada there is NO Ethanol in V-Power and no plans for its use.

In BC our Regular Grade (Bronze) may contain up to 10% Ethanol but V-Power contains no ethanol so at sites that sell mid grade (Silver) the mid grade will also contain some Ethanol.

If the site has ethanol there will be the appropriate labels (which state that Bronze may contain up to 10%, Silver up to 5% & V-Power none).

Kind regards,

Jose Meilo

Nelson BC here....I own the "Gas Bar," (parent company is Loblaws) we sell only Imperial Oil fuels and currently have 0 ethanol content in all gasoline grades 87, 89, 91. Go through lots of fuel too, so it's always nice and fresh. Stop in for some fuel if you're in Nelson, only a block away from the sled shop too....how convienient! lol

So if you have a "Gas Bar" wherever you are, it's worth double checking they are also 0 eth, and if so it's a good place to buy fuel. Usually a few cents less $$, usually do a lot of volume, and basically rebadged Esso fuel.

Petro Canada

Petro Canada in Mackenzie BC has about 7% ethanoll in the regular fuel. I contacted Petro Canada and their premium contains no ethanol. There is a very easy test you can do. I used a 100 ML beacon, put in 90 Ml of gas, added
10 Ml of water, shake for a few seconds, let settle, measure what looks like water. The ethanol and the water will mix. When I did the test here in Mackenzie I came up with 17%, the original 10% water and the 7% ethanol.
Besure to use a tall, slim beaker for an easier measurement::face-icon-small-hap
