We'll be coming out to ride next week and I was wondering how the trail is from Paonia reservoir (Erickson TH) over to Crested Butte.We don't want to get in over our heads.

That's the way we go when we ride Kebler, coming from Grand Junction. It's groomed and usually in great shape. It's a road. You'll probably be in over your head if you step off into the soft stuff on top though, it's incredible up there right now! Have fun! The area around Lost Lake has some great boondocking and hills, but it will be deeeeep!

If you are newish to the area, I would stick to the road until you get the the Y. It is safe on the road and there should be plenty of people in case you need directions or help.
Lost lake is rather remote and is "deeeeep", if you get lost or stuck..........it may take a while to get out.
Ther road is safe and clear of avy danger. Have Fun.

As far as i know we haven't made it too erikson sprgs TH as of yet this yr. there has been SOOOO much snow fall in the kebler pass area we can't keep up with it. just when we get the main trails track packed back down and get a pass or two on them with the drag WHAMOOOO!!! 3ft new snow everytime.
turbo has been to lost lake once maybe twice this yr that i know of. I'd exspect it to be powder riding all the way up the road until you get to lost lake where it will turn into packed powder maybe!
