Forecast is saying snow tonight for the east end of the county, and light snow for the next few days with highs in the mid to upper 20's. Berthoud and Jones should get some good snow, I hope?

Last Sunday, there was about 150' of dirt between the parking lot and upper basin.

If we get even 4" out of this cycle, the parking lot/road will be sufficiently covered to get up into the basin. Once up, there's "plenty" of snow - still a lot of rocks and hidden stuff, but we rode for a few hours; if careful, no problems.

Can't just pin it and hang on yet, but there was plenty to get around on, certainly plenty to have the first annual Beacon Olympics.

Can't emphasize enough what Iain said, it's not a riding day, with new snow on top of the rocks, you DO NOT want to come with the expectation that you're going to have fun, it will cost you a lot of $$.

Those of you that haven't ridden Jones before, it's a minefield.

If you're planning on coming up & working for an hour & then going riding, don't bother.
