Blew my first belt today at 190 miles, good thing for the ultimax 1 year warranty, it straight up broke in half which was good because it didn't make a rat's nest of cords under the hood, but it took out my LH footwell block of plate good thing i had some bailing wire in my backpack, you can see the screen in the pictures i had used to keep snow off the clutches, anyone else ever had this happen before?

ouch..might pull the primary off and check crank runout..that thing went boom..and that is why I run the 15 belt..have only seen one go boom when it went..

I run the 15 also and got 720 miles before i started throwing a cord. Changed and trimmed cord for a back up just in case. Polaris belts cost a-lot but sure last with proper clutch alignment, and that's with no added vents.

Youre the first guy ive heard of running that belt. The 115 polaris belt may be expensive....but worth it. IMO...

ive had one 115 go Boom and you could not even tell it was a belt.

i had a ultimax do the exact same thing to my footwell.

Trying to save money on belts is pointless when your twisting cranks... 115 belt or nothing.

I ran 1115 on my mod edge. I would flat explode them into 1" square pieces about every 200 miles. And yes, I run them on my pro as well. 1st belt lasted about 250 miles then pulled chords and had fur balls everywhere but didn't explode. 400 and counting on the 2nd. Hoping it goes longer now that I'm clutched better.

yep Ive seen that before! not long after my crank snapped off . You should definetlly check you crank run out.

I will be taking to the dealer this week to check crank run out, I'm running the stock Polaris belt now, but I've seen a few of the Polaris belts already grenade this year aswell, and at half the cost and warranty it makes it hard to spend a 160 on the Polaris belt

Polaris 115 belts way over priced

The polaris belts are junk for the money but there's nothing better out there so I guess were stuck paying for there over priced belts.

gates

gates belts all the way never ever had one granade, all i run on the pro and all my other sleds at only 65 bucks cant beat that also i feel the grab way better on the clutchs then the 115

You got a model # for the belt, I will give these i try, we have ten new poo's in our group and iv'e seen the polaris 115's last the same amount of time as the ultimax, and i properly clean and break in all my belts.

I had a 115 tear apart and blow a couple holes in the plastic on my sled. It straight ripped the vent facing me right out and shot out about 15 yards. That could have hurt. Knocked a hole in bottom plastic the front "wheel" vent and came out the knee vent. Cause was having a 62-20 weights in with two other 62-12 weights. The ramp angle was causing the belt to grab a little (squeel) sled flipped upside down and I went to roll it without turning it off. Throttle caught and revved up.

I was worried about the crank but there was no real load on the motor since it was upside down, not like the track was grabbing, it was just free spinning.

That makes me think about steel toed boots, at least when it is warmer. Good thing you had wire. Burnt a 15 a while back, trimmed and scrubbed the edges and ran it the next time out, no problems. Crossing my fingers I did not jinx myself, I hope it does not go on my next ride :face-icon-small-con

Breaking those belts in two are pretty common. I broke one in half on my dragon and it blew a hole right through my belly pan and detroyed the shroud and cracked my hood.

$500.00 later i was riding again.

Dont ever buy those belts they suck!!

i got 30 miles today out of the XS belt and snapped in half

I tried that pos belt on my IQ. Garbage. Went thru several belts. Finaly went back to 15 and never had another issue. I was getting over 1000 miles out of the 15. The 15 is all I will run on my Pro. Make sure if your sled is under warrenty do not tell your dealer that it was the xs belt that blew. It will probably void the warrenty if the crank if out. IMO
