Weight Transfer on the ZX SC 10 - what is the secret

sled is an 03 zx highmark extreme with 159 track in the sc 10 rear skid. I can't seem to dial in weight transfer. So far i have the limiter strap all the way out, the front rear shock set at max preload, and the torsion spring adjuster block in the lowest position. I dont believe there are any other adjustable parts of the sc 10. The torsion springs are the "standard" springs.

Any ideas.

i have thought about experimenting with entirely disconnecting the limiter stap and/or going with the "soft" torsion springs. There is also a tab looking thing on the rear arm that the shop manual references under reassembly of the rear skid.....not sure what that does.....almost looks like some kind of scissor stop?

I am not open to scrapping the sc 10 and going to an after market skid.

Thanks guys!!

punch one more hole in the limiter strap if it's not the dial lengthener and soften your front shock to about half, see if this helps. made a world of diff on mine. Just my 02 here

I would be careful with going longer on the limiter, you don't want to stab the track
Another factor in weight transfer is traction and power....a bigger lug will hook up harder, also snow conditions.
The setup you have is probably as good as you are going to get short of changing springs.

Transfer

Assuming rider weight 180 pounds and stock springs: Front shock setting 1, rear shock 2 or 3, limiter one in from stock.

Ditto what Eddy said.
You want to run your front skid shock as loose as possible, rear torsion set for sag or smooth ride, what ever is more important for you.
The front arm mounting point hasn't been changed from stock has it?
When I installed a 156x2.5x16 on my 02, I put 5 1/2" drop brackets in back, 7t extros, skis were glued to the ground untill I dropped the front arm mounts down a couple inches, transfer was right on, the sled still runs great today, even with a 2" Camo Challenger under it.

I agree with the others. Front shock soft, rear springs cranked at least 1/2 way.

Back in the day Big John swapped for softer springs on the front shock.
