wear on fuel line

In the process of replacing the pistons on my RMK and noticed some wear on the material that covers the fuel line. There is about a 1/4" spot where the cloth has worn through and I can see the line. looks like something was rubbing against it. It is near where the line is attached to the head. You know where the hex bolt that faces backwards. Does not look like it has worn then line itself.

Any issue with just covering it with some plastic accordian wrap or do I really need to replace it?

Also do I really have to attach the fuel line to that spot on the back of the head? That is a pain to put on.

Thanks

if its not wore threw there main line, just threw the covering.id just put a piece of hose over it and go.id hook up that bracket though, you see how much it chafed with it on ,imagine what it would be like flopping around .
just my 2 cents!
