We found POWDER. Ten hour Road trip though!

We just got back this evening from Cooke City. 4-5' of powder in areas.
Six of us went. Five were turbo's and "Dan the Farmer" on his m1000 (he doesn't need a turbo). The snow was great. Trail in/out of the ever-shrinking riding area blew....real bad. Accommodations were affordable, people were awesome and food was great/inexpensive. We got some good footage on the go-pro's. Will try to get some of them up tomorrow.
BTW, BD Turbo ran great as well.

Get there while you can, no snow in the forecast here in Utah.

nice

just throw in some McDonalds Fry's and sounds like a great trip...LOL
Cooke is awesome. If it's not on your bucket list, put it on there. Great place to experience. Can't wait to see some footage...wait, you are in most of mine Bostonian!

I will get some film up tomorrow....what about you Snotty?

My Mac needs more memory. We did get to watch all of the sno-pro footage on the big screen with the family. Krista couldn't believe the powder! FYI, I have several good clips of you and Frisco already teed up. Beyond the 10hr road ride to get there, the worst part of the trip was that dreaded trail in/out of the riding area.

No pics-No proof:face-icon-small-sho

Sounds like it was good. Cant wait for the footage. I am bummed I missed it. Need to get the full report.

The good news is that my war pony is back up and angry.
The bad news is that Winter called in sick, and sent his ugly sister the Inversion. The snow pack is so depressing and the forecast is worse.:face-icon-small-sad

Looks well worth the road trip.
First video I kept wishing I was steering because I wanted you would go the the other way or stop and play that meadow.
Second one looks/showed a lot more.

Agreed WJL

I am sure you know how it is. Out with a group of 6 (mostly turbos) staying with our group, not knowing the area and still early season (not wanting any unseen grenades going off)! A lot to watch for while still enjoying the heck out of the new sled and much needed POW. It was great to get out though! Suprising how good the snow was. We did have a stump go through Scotty's M8 bellypan and Mike lose an AArm on the way out. Other than that, we all had no significant issues.

Good stuff man. Pretty pathetic that guys would HAVE to road trip from Utah to find good snow. I am about ready for one myself. Thanks for sharing!:face-icon-small-hap

Nice! Looks like it was fairly deep. Now I'm even more bummed.
So thats what snow looks like. I'd almost forgotten:face-icon-small-con

The T must be nice too!

Put another one together, I am down with that!

So Colorado and Cooke is about it for the west!
Tog, IP all suck right now!
Nine hours to Cooke with good roads! 10+ with chit roads.
The good thing, food, fuel, hotels are very reasonable considering how remote they are.

It's Cooke or So-Colorado.

Island Park had squat, when we passed it Sat night. Cooke seemed to be within a fair weather pattern that brought in some fresh almost nightly during our stay. Pretty small riding area however. 25 square miles is all that the tree huggers have left for the entire area.
