Watched this jack**s sled in the park at Quartz

If we want to maintain our legal riding areas we need to self police these idiots. Stay out of the National parks and closed areas!:mad:
When everywhere else is tracked and at the end of the valley past some big yellow signs there are no tracks stop and think maybe people don't ride there because they don't want to risk the whole area being closed down.
If you see someone doing something that risks our all ready questionable reputation in the back country community stop them and inform them.
Be the solution not the problem.

What a dumbass. It looks like there are some more tracks on that hill. You should maybe show this to a represenitive of the club and suggest more signage. Just a thought.

that is so upsetting knowing that so mahny people completely disregard the signs and the laws. when will they learn? the rest of us suffer and they will continue to ride in these closed areas which will eventually shut all riding down for everyone.

:(

Some people only care about themselves, then when the entire place gets shut down they go to the next and try to get that place shut down too! Somebody should push his face in the sign, make sure he gets it straight next time, Some people just can't read! Its like our parking lot up here in Breck, i put up 12 signs that say private and yet my guys towed 16 times this winter already!

Hope the only thing that gets shut down is that one guy!

this sucks cuz we are already in a lawsuit in this same area where the greenies want riding to end march 15... when last year there was good riding well into may!!

The problem with confronting these idiots is that they just don't care. They laugh and will end up getting you in trouble in the end. They also don't care about riding areas getting closed down, '' cuz then there will be more fresh powder for them" since they will continue to ride there anyway. It is only the majority of us that end up with the penalties of their actions.

While I have, on occasion, ridden into a restricted area, it has never been on purpose. I've only done it twice and both times I was unaware of the restriction. If I'm aware of restrictions, I respect all boundaries where ever I ride. The problem I have at Quartz is where the boundary lies. It seems to me that if the signs were moved south about an 1/8th of a mile, it would essentially be the end of the valley and very difficult for anyone to ride any further. This would virtually eliminate the chance of anyone riding in the park....either accidentally or on purpose. Is there anyway to get the boundary line moved back just a little bit?

The glacier national park was designated a park in 1886 so to change it now I would think it would be pretty hard.

I thought I heard that the actual park boundary is more up the hill and the sign is just moved down to a more visible a more stable place to put a sign. i could be wrong and don't get me wrong we should respect that sign placement and
not sled on the hill just to avoid pictures like the one above. Which I bet now every greenie has saved to his hard drive for future reference.:(
