WATCH YOUR GAS AND OIL AT THE ELK VIEW INN

WE CHECKED IN AT THE ELK VIEW IN AT 1:30 ON FRIDAY MORNING. IT WAS A NICE EVENING AN WE WERE READY TO HIT THE SACK. LATER THAT MORNING, AROUND 8:45, WE WERE GETTING READY TO UNLOAD AND I NOTICED THE TWO 1 GALLON TANK ON THE BACK OF MY SLED WERE STRAPPED DOWN DIFFERENT THAN THEY SHOULD BE. TURNS OUT THAT TWO TANKS ONCE FULL OF FUEL SOMEHOW BECAME EMPTY THRU THE NIGHT. I JUST COMPLAINED TO MY BUDDYS AND SOME OTHER GUYS THEN WENT BACK TO UNLOADING. WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF TOPPING OFF THE OIL, WE NOTICED THAT ONE GALLON OF OIL WAS ALSO TAKEN OUT OF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. TALK ABOUT PISSING A GUY OFF. I THOUGHT FELLOW SLEDDERS WERE BETTER THAN THAT. NOW FOR HOW I REALLY FEEL... BUY YOUR OWN **** LAZY *** BASTARDS.

that sucks

Same thing happened to me and my friends. Stayed the night in Laramie, woke up in the morning and all our gas cans full of fuel were gone. Camera showed fellow sledders that took fuel, the police nor hotel would show us footage. I vowed to never stay in Laramie again, and then tons of thefts in Albany. I dont think it matters where we stay there are always dishonest people around us.

Heard of a stolen clutch of all things at Laramie, outrageous behaviour for people riding $10,000 toys.

a clutch, wow that would take some balls, we need to set some decoys up for these azzholes and do some hunting.

Thats why I left my oil and tools inside the truck. It would alot better if somebody own the enclosed trailer, nothing will get in.

Had a customer a few years ago with a top cap on a 12 ft trailer, thieves unhooked the trailer-took it all. They were staying in Laramie. Albany County deputies found it on Hwy 12, luckily the thieves only took the helmets and gear. One of the sleds had been yardsale'd earlier in the day, guess they didn't want a wreck.

A couple years back, they were breaking into enclosed trailers and trucks, or they would flat out take the trailer. Alot of sleds came up missing back then, i think they caught the one guy. I have not heard of much this year hope it stays this way. We never worried about anything out there for years, now if they want it they will get it. You can search old forums: Thieves in Laramie, Thieves in Snowies and Thefts in Albany. That was all in 08.

Lock it up!!!!!!! and shoot the badguys.......

keep it close

Park close to your room, if you can. We never used to unhook, but now i see alot of trailers unhooked and backed up to room door. When they got me we were out front by office under a light. just lock it up tight and hope for the best. I have been out there over 50 times and only once had something stolen. Go out and have fun, snow should be good...

happened to me in west yellowstone once, i woke up to go riding and my spare tank was empty:mad2:, so the next night i filled it with water and left it on their again, next morning it was empty again:face-icon-small-coo
LoL learned that trick from an wise elder of mine!

Hehe....That's some good stuff right there!

Your fuel may have been stolen cause on March 2 Bear lodge and Elk view was OUT of fuel, kinda put a damper on our last day of riding but DOES NOT make stealing ok.

a$$hole parking and theives

We stayed at the elkveiw inn a couple weeks ago nobody stole any thing but some double dumb douche bag parked so close I couldn't even get my door open on my truck. The parking lot was loaded with trucks and trailers but damn didn't know it was so important to be a dick in the parking lot. Not to mention any names but the truck was from rocky mountain bit service. Thanks for being such a tool if you read this post!

Water in gas can...hmmmm, I've got a few old cans I inherited when my inlaws moved out of town & I've been wondering what to do with them.......

A cheap baby monitor works well in an enclosed trailer. Transmitter in the trailer, the receiver in the room. Another one for open trailers is the cheap little door knob alarms. You know, the little motion sensors that hang on a door knob? Padlock them onto anything....and keep your drawers handy and bat at the bed-side.:face-icon-small-hap

Great idea, but my bat is composite and goes "bang bang".....Theives are the worst...nothing sacred, no honesty, no respect for others so I have no respect for them.
